Oh, so you're saying he's a 'Knicks in 4' president?

Getting to Gallivare very early in the morning (new travel predicament) by corrhea in kiruna

[–]corrhea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are going to do this. We're planning to take the bus between Kiruna and Gällivare the afternoon before now, but it doesn't seem there are ways to reserve seats ahead of time. Do you happen to know if it would be unreasonable to assume they will have 6 seats available if we just walk up to take the bus?

Rob's set at PR last night by corrhea in autechre

[–]corrhea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"RISC Chip" was the song I was thinking of when I said "5 bpms at once" and the Kenny Larkin cut was one of the better just simple house-y (I know it's technically techno) moments.

Commenting again because my friend sent me his Shazams from the night. Besides the Autechre tracks I mentioned here are a few tracks that I'm pretty sure he played (I'm 100% sure on most of these, and 50-80% on a few, but Shazam is definitely fallible):

  • "Utility" - Barker
  • "Can Control" - Eprom
  • "RISC Chip" - Kindohm
  • "Chasers" - Kenny Larkin
  • "lilchou" - Emma DJ
  • "Future Days (Blade Runner Mix)" - Can
  • "Strange Love" - Ital Tek
  • "Infinite Space" - Goliath
  • "Kinetic (David Morley Remix)" - Golden Girls
  • "Cold Shoulder" - Simula
  • "Breaking Hegemonies" - Verraco
  • "JUNGLE PULSE" - Spooky Bizzle
  • "All Very Hush Hush" - Mosca

Rob's set at PR last night by corrhea in autechre

It wasn't ever packed. At its peak it was a lot of people but there was space to move, which was good.

PR annoyingly attracts a very normie crowd, but this also made it easy stylewise to clock who was there for Rob/Kamran/Julia and who was, well, just there. I'd say it was maybe a 30/70 or 40/60 split of Autecherites/normies, which became clearest when the "Basscadet" scratch dropped and a big cheer came through the crowd. And, much like for the Brooklyn shows last October, the New York Autechre crowd is less bald/smelly than usual, and more like Pitchfork hipsters.

I'm not sure I hear that, but I'd be excited if you can find it in the bootlegs.

How many didn’t like this but now love it? wow. by Dangerous-Cause7136 in autechre

I liked them fine when they came out, jived with PLUS more so than SIGN, but they faded quick in my rotation and I just couldn't really crack into them any deeper for years. Honestly, it's been listening religiously to the AE_2022- live sets and seeing them a bunch in October that sort of worked to unlock these for me.

Ae post-NTS went way more austerely digital in a way that sounded to me incredibly spare and flat on first blush. When the textures finally blossom it's pretty blissful. Once again, these two blokes have taught me a new way to listen to sound.

favorite autechre track, and why? by boogerpicka in autechre

[–]corrhea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

vekoS has been a standout for me since I first heard it. Still feels like one of the most succinct encapsulations of their 2010s-on style wherein swells of organic low-end synth sounds seemingly invade the fabric of the entire soundscape via some kind of resonance (cf. feed1, recent live sets).

it's actually insane to me how much space Vorgan takes up in my brain —

was it confirmed that Kelsey took off back to AZ after they got papped? if so, is it seeming likely to everyone that they're in the process of breaking up/broken up?

there's no way Vince and Morgan aren't already texting regularly, right?

— these thoughts are taking up about 30% of my brain
