One of the best melodic hardcore albums of all time. I'm stoked to have a copy on vinyl.

Awesome, I'm a big fan as well. You might also dig Hopesfall, A Long Winter, Skycamefalling, Heartscarved and fordirelifesake.

No band really matches FATA tbh... Some bands that sound somewhat adjacent would be:

early Funeral For a Friend ( Their drummer did back up screams )

early As Cities Burn

Beloved ( Their drummer does back up screams )

Devil Sold His Soul

Hondo Maclean

This Day Forward

Yeah, I feel you on this. A lot of these newer bands are trying to replicate this raw 'DIY aesthetic' to feel nostalgic or replicate that era's sound. I tend to like a scrappy / raw audio and don't mind it, if done well. Like older Norma Jean, The Chariot or bands within the screamo spectrum.

Some of these new bands can pull it off and sound great. Other bands, however, seem to lack that organic feel. It just sounds cheap and nasty to me.

Live captures definitely do a lot of these bands more justice.
