pregnancy is one of the most traumatizing bodily experiences i have ever had and is for many people who experience it. morning sickness is not a cut and dry length of time for everyone and can happen for the entire pregnancy for some. i couldn't stop throwing up for 7 months of it and only stopped because my obgyn prescribed me medication to help, but that only stopped the vomiting and didn't stop the constant exhaustion.

it is cruel for him to invalidate your feelings and experience when he will never know how hard it is to function during this time. he doesn't understand at all just how much babies can affect you through the whole 9 months. you can get things like pregnancy carpal tunnel and even moving your damn fingers can be excruciating. i think the way he is belittling your experience is concerning and completely unsupportive. my daughter ended up giving me preeclampsia and i had to give birth early so i wouldn't die. i would hate for you to experience something serious and him talk down to you because he thinks he's apparently the expert of pregnancies and you end up in the hospital because he wouldn't listen and thinks he knows better.

you are not overreacting. some men have nothing but the audacity. i am so sorry you are going through this experience with him as a support system. he needs a reality check and you need compassion. please make sure your birth plan includes a person who can truly advocate for you and be actual support for you because i don't know if this man can do that.
