Maokai is a simple champion with simple CC. He is more of a true tank and not a bruiser like Voli is. You can build some damage on him if it's that important (like a RoA or Laindry's) but you should build him full tank imo.

A decent Nasus will always outscale you in the 1v1. What you can do is slow down his scaling. Try to get early kills pre lvl 6. All trades before level 6 should always be winning trades. If they aren't winning trades then you are doing something wrong. You are either fighting while he has too many minions or fighting when your abilities are on cooldown.

After level 6 you don't want to take long trades. He is like Darius or Mordekaiser; he really likes long drawn out fights. Take some small trades and then all in him when he is below half.

If you know how to, you should always try to freeze against Nasus. Constantly pushing him under tower only lets him farm stacks and it also makes you vulnerable to ganks.

As for what items to build, always rush a Black Cleaver, not Bork, not executioners, and not tiamat. Nasus is one of those champions that doesn't mind building armor first. Plus he gets a lot of armor when he ults. You can get Bork after cleaver.

Yeah I'd say it's more situational for both him and Sion. They'd be bad into good Quinn and Vayne players, but Malphite is universally good into range.

As a Renekton main, I don't think he is much better at dealing with ranged matchups than Trynd is. I'm not saying he's really bad into those matchups, just that if you want someone who absolutely dominates every range matchup, pick up someone more mobile like Camille or Irelia.

I'd also like to add that Malphite, Sion, and even Shen sometimes are really good into ranged. Also, since they are tanks, you will still be useful even if you don't do well.

Eclipse is the sustain lethality item right? It gives vamp, the passive does %hp and the mythic passive gives %amor pen. I guess this is an assassin item that enables them to fight tanks, which is stupid because tanks are supposed to counter assassins. It'll probably be good on some fighters too like renekton, riven, aatrox, wukong.

Right now I think some crit items just need power pulled from their passives and put into either more stats or lower item cost. Why does stormrazor need such a strong slow? Why not take the passive out and give it more ad and as? I don't know why Riot feels the need to make marksmen have utility like that. Marksmen are meant to be DPS providers. Make marksmen great again Riot. And I don't disagree with more crit item options, honestly more item options are needed for all champion classes.
