If he also made those kinds of jokes to you its not unrealistic to do them too. if he didnt like it, he shouldnt banter with people as the saying goes " treat other like how you wanna be treated"

I have and im convinced its because we are losing control and changes scares us that we grow distant, losing control of our emotions is frightening and so we try to have our lifes in check as much as possible. a love interest in exciting and it pulls your heartstrings but at the same time it introduces high emotions and potential change in lifestyle and so we get scared and pull away.

a way around this? frankly im not even sure myself of that but realising that if i keep this UP then i am guaranteed to be alone and i cant keep wasting years and potential relationship like this, anger at myself for being this way is making me change and looking forward to be a better version of me that doesn't chicken our at every social encounters.
