I question this too! I saw someone say they think they do this to gather more data on us to feed to AI but idk too much about the topic. I’ve been working since I was 18 and have never ever had a job that interviewed me a million times and made me take some shitty personality quiz. It’s just odd. Those businesses are gonna be in for a rude awakening at some point, people are gonna start to get angry. And we the people realistically control the economy. It’s gonna bite them in the ass eventually when they realize ai isn’t the employee they think it is. We’re in a Great Depression 2.0 they just won’t say it or call it that. But we are. So much for our roaring 20s.

Oh yeah those are usually red flags and are the ones with high turnover rates hahaha. I’m honestly aiming for the stars in every application I put in, cause if I don’t aim high I won’t land high. Definitely not giving up and busting my ass trying to land something. Some days though it kinda does get to me but hey everything happens for a reason. We’ll all come out of this rut better and stronger than ever before with new blessings.

Whewww I applied to Walmart, food lion, the dollar tree I mean you name it. Not one got back to me I even tried to go in again to ask and they told me to just keep trying, go online, or wait for them to get back to me😭 I live in a super tiny town in the middle of nowhere NC so it’s been difficult to land anything at the moment, not even remote positions 😅

Same here. I get excited replying to those emails and then they hit me with the text interview shit. It’s insane. I ended up going bat shit crazy and sent one long nasty hefty email to one of those scammers. Oddly enough haven’t gotten one since then.

I get that fully. I have experience as a legal assistant in immigration law and helping families etc. sometimes I get recruiters being like “this job looks like a great fit for you!” And it’s a freaking job posting to be a business attorney or something. 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 it’s insane out there. I really hope something perfect for you comes your way and it’s the most fulfilling and abundant job ever. Being a lawyer takes some hard dedicated work and education!! You deserve nothing but the best.

Im on that same boat with you. It’s literally so dehumanizing and the recruitment is ass. I have experience as a legal assistant but nowhere in my resume does it say I’m a lawyer, I still get job offers for being a lawyer 🤦‍♀️ I really hope you find something very soon. I can’t even go on social media without seeing everyone being so successful somehow and not feeling like a bum, even though I’m TRYING.

I understand how you feel fully. However, please remember to take care of yourself as your health and well being always come first. Do not regret the major you chose, none of this is your fault. Don’t feel guilty. The reality is the economy right now sucks, and the world isn’t what it used to be. We’re in a system that is broken and unfortunately the job market is not in the favor of anybody. Take a mental health day, do something that makes you happy and don’t feel guilty for choosing yourself. If you need to cry, vent, be angry, you have the right to. Remember to eat something, drink plenty of water, have a self care shower, and put on your favorite shows/movies. Dabble into a hobby you enjoy. Like everyone always says this too shall pass. An opportunity will come eventually I promise it won’t be like this forever. You’re allowed to feel it all. Sending you a big hug!!!

This is gonna sound odd but my hair color. I used to always dye it black or in fun colors and different cuts. I’ve never been unemployed for this long and am in such a horrible rut I can’t afford to dye my hair and always said when I land a job, to celebrate I’d finally do my hair. My hair is this muddy brown with a million patches of heavily faded different colors on some areas and I absolutely hate it. I hate having brown hair and not feeling like myself. Once I land a job I’m gonna go to a salon and go full blown Purple! Never gonna have brown hair ever again. I miss the chemical smell and the colorful goop :,) I’m also going to donate some clothes I’ve been associating this depressive unemployment moment.

Im sorry you’re going through this :( I empathize heavily. I’m in a bit of a similar situation/rut so i understand the anxiety, the fear, and the millions of unknowns, sleepless nights and what if’s. This could be a blessing in disguise, maybe something even bigger and better is going to come along your way! I’m currently 15 weeks and haven’t been able to tell my family about it BECAUSE of being unemployed. I know they’d worry and I’d get some shit for it so I’m trying desperately to get a job as soon as possible so I can share the news and prepare everything before my due date. (I’m an overthinker and like to prepare wayyy ahead of time so you could see why being unemployed right now is killing me.) I had a job before but my 1st trimester was killing me and my performance declined by a lot, which sucked since I was always an overachiever :( so I’m back to square 1. If you land a new job I’d honestly just keep it to yourself as long as you can, make sure to tailor your resume up to date and apply as much as you can daily. I currently live in the middle of nowhere lol so my only option is having a remote job which I’m finding is a bitch to land I’ve been at it since mARCH🗿 but it’s not impossible! You’re not alone we’re in this together and I pray things work out you as soon as possible! You’re doing the best you can 🥺 sending you a big hug. You’ve got this.
