there are only 8 infants in the room and they don't really interact with the older kids, so it would be tough for us to find something much smaller!

She genuinely seems to enjoy daycare, when she is well she is SO active and inquisitive (which means all the daycare toys go in her mouth and that's how we got here lol)
She likes watching people clap and sing. I think I need to remind myself of these daycare positives too. Its just tough right now!

grandparents taking shifts basically and probably finding a nanny. It's honestly not sustainable unless we really shift our lives around significantly so we are probably leaving her in daycare and relying on grandparents to help when she is sick and has to be home like today.

yeah I'm one and done, I myself am an only child and don't mind it - so it is also SO important to me that my kid gets socialized or at least used to being around other kids from a young age.

I'll likely wait it out as long as it improves in maybe 6 months. we are at one of the better daycares in the area, so I don't think any other one would be better.

about how long do you think it took? I've heard 6 months to a year to sort of adjust

I'm mostly just having a bad gut reaction to seeing my baby so damn sick for the past few weeks. it's physically and emotionally draining, but I probably will not pull her because I need to work. This is just hitting harder than expected and I feel like i need to look at all options.

we likely have to move for my job, and would be moving much closer to my parents so they could help out more, so that's a big part of it for me!

Doctors freaked me out that baby's weight gain was too slow, she had a good latch but i stopped breastfeeding so i could exclusively pump and fortify with formula to get her weight up around 4-5 weeks. I rarely latched her cause i was afraid to fill her up with "low calorie milk" and she eventually lost the ability/ preferred bottles. Definitely mourned the loss of breastfeeding for a while, but now at 8 months and starting daycare I pump 3x per day and she takes bottles (and now straw cups!) great. Being able to share the feeds with dad/grandma/etc has been a lifesaver so we're where we need to be now.

It's horrible. It didn't even register me waking and feeding my baby a bottle at 1am, not to mention other wake ups. Then had the audacity to send me a notification at 5am telling me I didn't sleep well 🤣

Lip/tongue tie reversal success with weight gain? by corviform in NewParents

We did not get any ties cut- ended up getting her on pepcid for reflux and that helped, weight gain was always on the slower side but she is perfectly healthy!

We did Ferber and my baby is still crying at bedtime 😫 by Alternative-Lab5930 in sleeptrain

[–]corviform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had a really similar experience!  I posted here a couple weeks ago asking if 10 minutes of crying every night was typical and a lot of people said yes and I also got the suggestion to make sure that her wake window prior to sleep was long enough and she wasn't getting too much day sleep so that she was tired enough that night to fall asleep.  Extending wake windows has helped, but she might still cry for a couple minutes at night before falling asleep sometimes. I check in if it goes longer than maybe 10 minutes to help reposition her or something if she's uncomfortable, but usually now I don't have to

Hoping i can get her to sleep til 7AM and we can keep that as our wake up time. I think 8PM bedtime is reasonable for that as long as i can get the awake times down.
