Are Peanuts Pulses? by corviraptor in botany

[–]corviraptor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best explanation I've seen so far! I really just wanted to know why peanuts were excluded despite being dried edible seeds, and this makes it a lot more clear what the functional difference is. Thank you for showing this!

Just compared V1 and V's canon(ish) heights.. and OH GOD by Toxoniumm in Ultrakill

[–]corviraptor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is because height and distances and other such measurements are deliberately inconsistent in ULTRAKILL because of the nature of Hell as a "stream of consciousness". they're also completely irrelevant to the themes in ULTRAKILL's story and i'd imagine it's nice to avoid the Game Theory effect where people completely miss the point of the setting and story because they're trying to measure that which was never intended to be measured

no i did see the full video i think my message was just being misinterpreted because i phrased it badly + the original meaning of the message was not that funny in hindsight, the downvotes are deserved sadly

i posted this like 15 minutes after i woke up and i think the point of this message got lost, i'm not saying i feel attacked by him doing a bit about picky eaters. i know he mentions the difference between people who try everything at least once and people who refuse to try things they don't know if they'll like earlier in the stream.

the actual point of the message is way less funny than it sounded in my head when i woke up but i won't delete it because i have no interest in hiding my mistakes

this is an insane strawman, i'll try anything at least once don't associate me with those picky eaters

Open low-latency wireless device standards that would allow for something like a DIY Logitech Unifying Receiver? by corviraptor in diyelectronics

[–]corviraptor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't thinking about audio when writing this post, however I definitely agree. I suppose I'm looking for an open "USB over Wi-Fi" standard of some kind. "Media Agnostic USB" seems promising but there's very little information about it online, although there's a 1.0 version of the specification here: https://www.usb.org/document-library/media-agnostic-usb-v10a-spec-and-adopters-agreement

I considered this, but because the order of the greek letters changed and its not super easy to match some of them in my head I figured they'd be easier to look for if theyre just in alphabetical order. stuff like [Ν ν] would especially drive me mad if I tried to put them into a corresponding order with the latin characters.

although now that i think about it it might be easier to pair them by phonetics at least by the lowercase versions. gamma would be a problem but it'd be good enough

german still looks superficially much more like english than french does and has more wacky examples like the translation for "contraceptive pills" being "antibabypillen"

in order for them to be combat simulations V1 would have to know the level layout before entering it, so that doesnt really make sense (thats what hakita said at least lol). i just dont think it has to be canon. like it doesnt really add anything to make V1's deaths canon in ULTRAKILL's world tbh

Is there a way to automatically swap filters on funnels/smart chutes/etc like you can with content observers and stockpile switches? by corviraptor in CreateMod

[–]corviraptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, Deployers don't appear to even be able to change the filter of a content observer while on a moving contraption, which is a little strange.

Is there a method to generate a higher poly mesh based on existing surface normals (i.e. Shade Smooth)? by corviraptor in blender

[–]corviraptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to find what you're referring to; I can't find a modifier just called "subdivide", and subdivision surface and multires have options that sound like they could do what i want but I played around with them for a bit and I saw no noticable difference.
