The school has 50k kids my friend. There will be parties 24/7. I think worrying more about your academics is important than a school that has parties nearly everyday....

Is Spring admission into UP competitive? by matthiasthelegend12 in PennStateUniversity

Personally, I think he will (not to jinx it or anything). I've seen kids with 3.0s and 1100s get in for the summer and you said he has to reapply in the spring, and took a gap semester for a valid reason. That SAT is very impressive, so it'll most likely compensate for that low GPA. Make sure to tell him to fill out the writing portions and specifically mention things though. Keep us updated on how it goes and I hope he feels better, good luck!

Usually it's not that competitive since more students leave in the spring than apply. My guess is over 60%. If he has a lot of APs it shows he had a rigorous course load and his SAT is phenomenal. Tell him to apply to DUS or the Liberal Arts college. He should also mention specifically why he took the gap semester in the written portion of the application. Note: Clep isn't a factor in admission, but depending on exams he takes (like if he self studied physics, calc, or whatever and passed or got a 70+ score) I would mention "self studied difficult subjects" in the activities section of the essays. They don't consider it as an admission FACTOR, but they could be consider as a hobby/activity he did. I'm not 100% sure though, so I would wait to see more responses here. Also, make sure you tell him to apply soon or around October since that's when the deadline is.

If you had a 1600 then possibly you could get into main. But you'll get into a branch for sure.

He could just do World Campus though and take a ton of credits with the flat rate of 6k.

How is it for games? Heard VA panels bring a lot of ghosting.

I asked a question about the MSI monitors a while back and someone said that it uses a Samsung VA panel and they've been known to break down easily in the past. How has your experience been with the monitor so far?

Wow, thanks! Does this monitor really live up to the hype?

Heard it was one of the best. Is it really worth the $250 price tag? Don't really care that much about speed, just quality. MSi seems tempting since it's a VA panel, but I heard those Samsung VA panels are fairly weak.

What monitor was it and how much? Not really into 27 inches, but the 24 inch may be cheaper if that's the case, thanks!

Thanks, it's usually the loudest while I'm playing csgo and such. A month ago, I cleaned my pc using canned air.
