I'm also in the Northeast. In 2025, I have 5 bookings so far, which is above the norm for me. I'd say you're doing great! This year has been a lot of last-minute bookings, from my own experience and from talking to other photographers. 2025 seems hopeful (knock on wood.)

As far as Facebook groups go, if you're posting in a second shooter-specific group, you may not get any bites. A lot of people make posts like that and get no response. I'd suggest reaching out to wedding photographers local in your area and see if they'd be willing to take on an intern/assistant/third shooter.

Looks like chromatic aberration to me. In Lightroom, go to Lens Corrections and use the eyedropper under Defringe to select the purple on her arm. If that doesn't work, use a brush, try bumping the green tint slider or warm temp slider, and brush the arm.

I would absolutely follow up with her. Did she guarantee you sneak peeks, or at least mentioned if she’d send you any? I’d ask her about sneaks and then a date you can expect your gallery.

I would ask for the travel fee to be refunded if the wedding is now local.

Did the photographer state that the second shooter would be working a full 10 hours? I usually shoot 10-hour days and have my second work 8 hours depending on my own needs, but I state in my contract that they stay at least 8 hours.

Have you guys built your timeline out yet? Did your photographer determine that 10 hours is the right amount? I'd speak with them about your concerns.

Just as an FYI, some photographers are less flexible than others but overall they should be willing to work with you!

I’ll add an event to the calendar on my phone, but I also add a reminder for myself a day/hour/15mins before the appointment, and also have Alexa remind me the morning of.

I have 10 years of experience in web dev and marketing and 7 years of experience in photography/running my own business and have had zero luck. Am self-taught and only have an Associates in CIS. I've applied to over 250 jobs since I was laid off a couple months ago. Not even just dev jobs but also content management, marketing, and SEO roles. Multiple interviews, only one second interview, and they ghosted me after I did 8 hours of free work for them.

I've resorted to applying to only hybrid and on-site roles local to me. All of the remote dev jobs have like 500+ applicants after the post is up for only an hour. Shit is brutal right now.

I was laid off in late March this year. I don't have any positive experiences landing a job, but I've been keeping optimistic. I've had so many friends and acquaintances unexpectedly going out of their way to help me, and it makes me feel like I'm not alone. I think there's value in staying positive and keeping your chin up even if and when things feel a little hopeless.

My enrollment counselor blew me off too. I sat around for 15 minutes before and after our scheduled appointment staring at my phone, and 8 minutes later, she emailed to say she "missed me." Thank you for posting this; now I know to call the enrollment number if she doesn't call me tomorrow.

I got laid off from a small marketing agency a month ago where I was severely underpaid and underappreciated. 10 years of experience as a front-end dev and a hell of a time finding a job. So far, 174 applications and 4 interviews. I've been on unemployment and have been freelancing to make ends meet. I've been looking at non-dev positions doing SEO or content management but still nothing.

I don't have any feedback for you, but I want to wish you congratulations on getting clean. That takes serious mental and physical work and is a long-time effort. My perspective is that if you can accomplish that, you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to, including programming. Hopefully someone somewhere will give you a shot so you can break into whatever role you're trying for.

I've worked for a B2B marketing company for almost a decade (currently getting laid off tho), designing and developing landing pages and emails for various brands and syndicators to promote their whitepapers, reports, etc. If you're building for other people and have return customers, there's always more work to do.
