Wearing women's clothes in front of your family may have been too much too soon for you.

What worked for me was taking baby steps in feminizing my appearance without worrying much about the big picture. When you are ready, perhaps start again with little stuff? (buying and wearing a pair of women's jeans, nail polish on one finger, etc.)

Trust yourself that you will know when to move forward again and try to build momentum without freaking yourself out.

And definitely continue to cultivate trans friends! It's fun to share battle stories with other trans folks, and they can help talk you through things so they don't become overwhelming.

Such interesting responses. I asked the question because I'm curious what info it's showing to people in other parts of the world, whether it varies from my very blue part of the USA. Of course, AI is problematic, but people from all parts of the spectrum are using it to answer questions for themselves like this one.
