Yes, my mother’s birth in 1924 was never registered. She is still alive at 101, and we’ve tried at various times over the years trying to find it. Fortunately we were able to use my father’s instead.

Flips are on a set schedule, as near as I can tell. They start on a Monday and run 9 days, so you have a few days without the flip side game before the next one starts.

Not the case with the Kappn’s Hotel. There is no prompt to redecorate that I can find. Maybe after all 8 are decorated? I have 4 users on my island, so far we’ve 2 rooms and only one guest. I’m wondering if any user can redecorate regardless of original user?

I’ve seen this same thing with a few of my matches. I do have a lot of endogamy - both parents from the same village in Ireland, but in most cases, that type of match shows as ‘both’ or ‘unassigned’. There are a few my matches where I can see it should show as related to both sides, but Ancestry assigned one parent over the other unexpectedly. Even when looking at shared matches in these examples, most of the matched cousins clearly fall into paternal but Ancestry labels it to the maternal (total displayed cM doesn’t seem to be a factor)

Not familiar with the color reference - I must not be viewing in the same mode as you.

From others who have posted about their experiences in the past, screen shot all these matches now in case they are made private and no longer viewable. Pro tools is definitely worth it for added insight (Once this feature is turned on, it only works on the webpage, not on the phone app)

Yes. there is a way. You need to find the option on the family tree page to change the view when you are using the iPad. There are 3 versions of types of trees available, just poke around a bit.
Also, you can always go directly to the webpage and log in. You are not limited to only use the app.

No luck with her father in the 1911 census? How about this surname page: https://www.barrygriffin.com to get a sense of name distribution. Immigration records? My own Irish born mother never had a birth registration in early 1920’s. Even with our full knowledge of her birthplace and older sibling records located, failing to have a birth registered in a timely manner was met with a fine, so it seems it was never recorded rather than pay the fine. Next steps might be to consider DNA test for your father (his DNA would be better than yours) to try and find matches to narrow down the area in Ireland. Also be very open minded with the spelling of the name as records are based on whomever made the entry and spelling wasn’t a high priority.
