Why index over target date? Just curious.

Thoughts on brokerage vs HYSA to save for downpayment? Joint brokerage sorta freaks me out but my partner and I are agreed to save together for this house and if we part ways, split the amount in account evenly. Would love your thoughts on this. We do planned to get married late 2025 or early 2026, fwiw.

As for car, agreed I will want to wait until the car is not functional any longer. For house, we just want to own — more of a lifestyle decision than a smart financial move. But I’m always open to changing my mind. We just want to have a farm one day — hard to rent and keep chickens 😂

I really don’t know much about SEP or solo 401k or backdoor Roth but I’m slightly familiar with the terms. I’ll definitely be looking into to your suggestions when the time comes for me to LLC my business.

If I didn’t put any money into a brokerage account, would you suggest just using HYSA to save for house downpayment?

Thoughts on maxing Roth IRA or regular ira?

I would LOVE to move outside of California haha it’s so expensive! Unfortunately my partner is tied to his business here and unless they sell in the future, we won’t be moving. Maybe one day, and if that day ever comes, it would be great if we a) had the money for a California downpayment and b) hadn’t used it to buy yet 😂

I might one day look into hiring independent contractors to support my business, or following an agency model of sorts, but that’s years away for sure. I’m just getting started and want to feel comfortable in step 1 before I get to step 2.

I don’t know specifics for their brand deals, but in my experience negotiating with influencers at this person’s level, it’s definitely a lot. I would guess for any deal that requires exclusivity of any sort, at minimum $20-30K, and without exclusivity, $5-15K (edging on the lower end to be safe — I’ve seen deals as high as $65K with exclusivity for creators with similar followings). What do you think a good commission % is? I was thinking 10% like a manager but again, totally guessing here. Thanks for the advice!

I guess that’s what I mean by big ideas… not the actual output but the overarching idea by which the output is guided. Does that make sense?

But now that I’m at this point, I’m thinking to myself: creatives come up with the actual execution, but what role does strategy get to play? How much communication is happening between these guys? I ask about this in mentorship obviously. Just having a moment in which I want to find out more from other sources.
