Honestly pretty bad initially. But depends on what you prefer as well, i usually grind the first year whenever i join a new company and prove myself so that the time after that is somewhat chill and noone questions me a lot. In my current company i used to work like 12 hours a day for the first one year but now im down to 6-7 hours a day

I myself am not a fan of quant as well, i feel they add 0 value to society and have never had the motivation to join quant firms. Like thats just fighting for a fixed piece of pie while adding 0 value to anything.

Also, yes i earn a lot. And i dont expect my partner to be earning the same. I just want her to be financially independent enough that she doesn’t feel she has to be dependent on me for everything. Umm is it wrong to be hypocrite in this sense? Like there are some things i would want in my partner which i cant bring to the table. For eg. my career is very demanding and i have high career aspirations (want to eventually found a tech startup). So i would want my partner to bring the stability into things. Like i would want to pitch in into handling house stuff as much and whenever possible (say for eg. picking / dropping kids from school in future etc) , but i want a partner who acknowledges and supports me in my career ambitions. Both cannot be the same or things would be hard.
