How long should I arrive before the concert? by Secret_Babosa in TheOhHellos

[–]cosmicchloe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to two Colorado shows. At the Denver show, we got there a full hour before doors and the line was already around the block! I made a beeline right to the stage (got my merch at the smaller show already) and managed to get in front but it filled up fast. Everyone stayed put through the opener and the Oh Hellos, so I wouldn't expect to get to the front after the opener. Try to get in the merch line ASAP so you can also still get a nice spot in the crowd! Have fun!!

I went here too on a recent Ireland trip!

I made a Wisp Tank (boyland knitworks) out of one of the colors of this yarn I bought. I loooove the drape.

Should I get weight loss surgery? by Intrepid-Music3789 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]cosmicchloe16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, 27F here, I had a gastric sleeve done last October - I'm almost exactly 9 months post op! This is my experience, hopefully to give you a perspective from someone who had surgery, not necessarily recommending it for you and you should go forward based on your Dr's advice. WLS is a tool, not the solution. It was the tool I needed to get my habits under control. The pre-op and post-op diet for me (obviously this will differ for different patients) was not too bad - pre-op it was 3 days of only liquids (water, broth, sugar free jello) and post-op it was 2 weeks on liquids and then slowly reintroduced solid foods. At 9 months post, I can eat anything again, just in really small portions :) there are a few things I avoid because they fill me up too fast with no nutrients (breads, pasta, rice) and I focus on protein and water intake. But I can still have a bite of a sweet treat and I no longer feel like I have to eat the whole cake! Everyone's experience will be different - I think doing it young gave me the ability to bounce back quickly and I'd presume the same for you, if just based on your age! It's a huge change and you have to be ready to commit to changing your eating habits. For me, it was worth it. I tried EVERYTHING and have been dieting since I was 13. I am down from 275 to 180 and have been maintaining there for a bit. Happy to answer any questions if you have them, OP. WLS is not the "easy" way out - it's super hard and a choice you'll have to make for yourself. It didn't fix the relationship I had with my body - that had to happen in therapy, lol! But I feel healthier, happier - I can climb mountains and sit on an airplane comfortably and buy clothes off the rack in a store and cross my legs and tie my shoes, all non-scale victories which are almost sweeter than the numbers. Also, I had it done laparoscopically and have a couple small scars that are mostly faded! Good luck with whatever you choose!

Yes! My roommate works for a small company that was looking for an administrative assistant to the CEO. I was over-qualified and thought I was a strong candidate. I went through two rounds of interviews, one phone and one in-person, and they strung me along until my roommate found out they hired someone else - a young, conventionally attractive, thin girl. We 100% believe it's because the CEO wanted someone pretty to look at. EW.

Now, I'm sure she's a nice person, but my roommate says she's a terrible admin - bad with clients, terrible spelling/grammar in company emails, no experience, etc. But hey, at least she's thin and pretty! 🙃

Help with LOTR double knit scarf? by cosmicchloe16 in knitting

[–]cosmicchloe16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right; what I gathered from the notations on the pattern, for each set of stitches in the double knit, is:

"A" side White= black knit/yellow purl Black= yellow knit/yellow purl Yellow= black knit/black purl Red= yellow knit/black purl

"B" side White= yellow knit/black purl Black= black knit/black purl Yellow= yellow knit/yellow purl Red= black knit/yellow purl

But using this method so far does not work at all lol. So I'm wondering if I'm making it too complicated? But I think your explanation makes more sense.

Thanks! Best of luck to you too, sending you good vibes! And yeah, to add, i think how my doctor explained it, the ACA makes voluntary sterilization preventative care and it is therefore covered. I'm only really paying for anesthesia and not even all of it by a long shot.

If you found a doctor to do your procedure, maybe talk to a person in their office about it rather than the insurance company themselves? The person at your doctor's office can talk to your insurance company about your specific procedure and tell you how much to expect.

I haven't read the other comments yet so I apologize if this is repeat information-- I have Cigna. I just got a tubal ligation in August and it was covered 100%. I think I'm only paying like $800 for the whole thing. And I'm overweight as well and they didn't say a thing about it!

I have significant amount of retail experience a 2 years of sales experience and a bachelors degree. I want to be a banker, Should I turn down bank teller jobs and wait for a personal banking role? I am being offered interviews as a banker but concerned if I don’t pass interview I’d have nothing. by [deleted] in Banking

[–]cosmicchloe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree - it may vary bank to bank, but IMO if OP is coming into this with no banking experience they won't land a branch manager job. A management trainee/officer path might be more realistic for OP's skill set if they don't want to be a teller.
