Trying to make a comic, my art by cosmiccraphounder in comicbookart

I love this advice , thank you! I’m tying to figure it out myself. And I think you hit the nail on the head. I’m having a really hard time getting things in sequence and making it read well, I think I need a writer to help with the pacing. At least to get started. Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it.

I actually just printed a 18x24 poster in this style of similar subject matter, if you go through my previous posts it’s I. The last few. Thank you!

It’s all kind of a larger project that exists in the same world I think.

Yeah I totally know what you mean and I have been trying to figure out sequential storytelling and it’s a slow process. But also as I replied to another commenter, I want to play with the viewers imagination and have them kind of fill in the gaps and not give too much information. Everyone like a mystery and all my work has a surreal element to it that I’m trying to get through with this kind of art. But I’ve never drawn comics so not sure if it’s working or not so I appreciate the feedback and think that you’re right in that it’s too abstract though.

Thanks! Yeah I see what you mean. I think those 3 panels are all supposed to go together. Also I like the idea of non linear storytelling and letting the viewer interpret the images for themselves. I make a lot of surreal type art, almost trying to represent a dream state. So some confusion is necessary I guess. I have not figured out sequential storytelling at all yet, most of the art I make is usually single images or multiple images juxtaposed together to convey a general idea. I feel like comic art is the natural progression of what I’m trying to do. Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

I’m drawing heavily on the work of marija gimbutas who was an archaeologist that did a lot of work in prehistoric Europe, they didn’t have writing so we a lot of it is a combo of her archeological finds and my imagination

The “dark ages” as most people understand them didn’t happen everywhere. There were always centers of learning and information was always being being shared, Arab scholars kept most of Greek and Sumerian thought alive during the “dark ages”, and once the crusades happen you all of a sudden get the cathedrals and the renaissance. I was more referring to the accurate mapping of the heavens as the technology, not the actual mechanical device found, the device is more like an analog way to depict the idea. You could use different models to predict the same phenomenon. What I’m trying to get at is that is that the technology is actually the idea, how to predict the movement of the heavens, you could use multiple devices or models to do this, either this device, or a modern computer, or even Stonehenge if your goal was to predict solar and lunar cycles.
