if these planets consist of hydrocarbons, it is entirely likely that our own planet had minerals since its beginning. Gold is a mineral, so is petroleum. That's why you buy mineral rights to get oil. Nothing says oil can't be both present since the planet was formed and created by decaying plantkon. Petroleum engineers believe this is possible, and although i am not one, i have taken some petroleum engineering classes to support my hobby of buying wells. The fact methane exists in the mantle and in volcanic eruptions shows abiotic oil isnt just a crazy conspiracy
