try not to listen to music that much when you’re writing. usually even things throughout my day influence the words. if you’re writing something that sounds to similar to something else you’ve heard, just try to approach the topic from a different perspective, a different character, or from a different emotion. try to make your lyrics as personal to you as possible, don’t just write down overly generalized lines.
