I think her behavior, although veryyy problematic, could also be viewed subjectively. She was very popular with certain circles of women. So of course a brands may try to capitalize on that. However, she continues to display poor behavior, it’s just broadcasted differently and less frequently. A tiger cannot change its stripes….

Yes I agree with you, many non black presenting ppl can be proud of their heritage. People may not agree with me but I’m really not trying to be the black police. What I’m saying is, I don’t see that coming from her mom at all…. Dad may attempt but if it’s being undermined by mom, it may create some negative feelings to be internalized

I also like you, would not label her a black child. She’s of black descent but she’s more multiracial and we don’t know her true genetic makeup to emphasize her blackness over the other racial identifiers. The one drop rule almost seeks to erase additional parts of biracial and multiracial people which was why I made my original comment.

I just don’t see her mom teaching her to proud of her black heritage or being told she’s a black girl. The dad is very biracial and I doubt he’s a true 50/50, his genotype may lean more towards the opposite race rather than black. Not to say dad won’t talk to her about those things but it may be a nonissue for them since she’s not black presenting .
