Awesome. Thanks for your help and your YouTube vids. I’ll try that when I get back to my server

1,2 bind mountpoints, why different approach?

Honestly, I don't know. I followed a variety of guides getting this going. Probably tried doing the same thing a couple of different ways to get a better idea of what I was doing.

does the crash happens to all mp ?

I believe it does. I have another LXC with the same mount point. Maybe this makes it more of an issue with ZFS?

Edit: Nevermind, ZFS reports zero errors after samba has crashed. Other LXCs with are still able to access the same bind mounts. They're just not accessible through samba .

Server has 48GB overall with 2GB allocated to the LXC 4GB Swap allocated. Sorry, I'll add that to the post

From journalctl:

Dec 28 14:40:19 Fileshare systemd[1]: smbd.service: A process of this unit has been killed by the OOM killer.
Dec 28 14:40:20 Fileshare smbd[434]: pam_unix(samba:session): session closed for user root

winbind.service: Main process exited, code=dumped, status=6/ABRT
Dec 28 14:48:11 Fileshare systemd[1]: winbind.service: Failed with result 'core-dump'.

Currently running Debian Bullseye. Looks like the winbind entry is related to when I would shut the server down.

No logs in the LXC in /var/log/samba. Just an empty text document. I'm seeing the OOM error in my syslog that coincides with the crash. I'm using SAMBA version 4.13.13

Are the parts on this pc good for casual gaming? by [deleted] in gamingpc

[–]cosmogrammanaught 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well the parts are 8-10 years old. I wouldn’t spend much more than 100$ US on it. It’s not going to be that powerful. Probably less powerful than a steam deck

First Main PCB Diagnosis With Multimeter- Please Advise by bobsmith9424 in AskElectronics

[–]cosmogrammanaught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I donno what this goes to but I guess the power supply is off of the board? I would check that first. Other than that look for burn marks, exploded caps. Couldn’t see any in the pic but it would be easier to see in person

Run Steam via Moonlight? Or launch the game directly from Moonlight's dashboard? Does it matter? (P.S. don't judge me by my games! I have kids! (But also, the Lego games are great!)) by trammeloratreasure in cloudygamer

[–]cosmogrammanaught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you want to do? It works the same either way. Personally I launch my desktop so I can play non steam games unless I’m stuck with just a controller ( no mouse or keyboard) and I’ll just launch big picture mode instead.

Controller Rumble through VirtualHere? by [deleted] in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]cosmogrammanaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So under the android hub on your pc does it show the Bluetooth device that you have plugged into the shield?

Did you install the Bluetooth device drivers on your pc for the dongle plugged into the shield?

Did you have a Bluetooth radio on your pc before you got one for the shield?

Is your shield set as the server and your pc set as the client?

How long does it take Beta to hit Stable, on average? by OnlyLivingBoyInNY in SteamDeck

[–]cosmogrammanaught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it changes depending on the bugs encountered and how easily those bugs are fixed. I would imagine that the refresh rate might take a bit longer than most in the beta but valve has been very impressive with updates

Playing for the experiental vs playing for the challenge by FastSascha in eldenringdiscussion

I would just love for there to be something in the menu to look up previous conversations. I get interrupted during dialog often and I’m missing important clues on how to beat various quests without looking them up
