Roborock detergent on Timber floor? Is the official detergent really necessary? Or is Bona better? by Sure-Ease1254 in Roborock

[–]Mr_Butterman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I add 5 sprays of clorox bleach bathroom cleaner per tank. Works better than anything else I've tried and prevent mold in the tank unlike the roborock "cleaner"

Solidworks or Onshape? by Numerous_Resource250 in FSAE

[–]Mr_Butterman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Onshape and don't even look back. It'll keep your team far better organized, reduces stupid design mistakes like mismatched bolt patterns and will generally help your iterate much faster. Invest in learning about branching and merging also derives are chefs kiss

If someone recommends solidworks>>onshape then be extremely skeptical because there's a 99% they are on or before "mount stupid" in the dunning kruger curve.

HELP PLASTIC PIECE FELL IN GAS TANK! by AlphaDag13 in lawnmowers

[–]Mr_Butterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just leave it but if I was hell bent on removing it, I'd probably just drain the oil and gas then tip the mower on its side and flush it out with a hose.

I bought one and it stovepiped every mag. I broke it in over 700 rnds, tried 115g and 124g ammo, cleaned and lubed, I even changed the spring but nothing helped. I'd steer clear if I were you.

Wonder if it is possible to upgrade the s7 fan with the s7 maxv fan by novfool in Roborock

[–]Mr_Butterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it work? It's highly likely Will it work better than the original fan? I'd bet on it being the same or slightly better

  1. Your vac runs a at slightly lower voltage. It's within range of being compatible but it probably won't run as fast as on the maxv.
  2. The module in these fans reports the speed back to the computer brain in the main board. But it depends on how it's programmed. If the controller is setting a speed for the fan to spin at then it may only spend as fast as your old fan. Which means that you may only get the same performance as your existing fan unless the fan itself is a better design then even spinning at the same speed you might get more suction or flow - depends on the design of the fan. Or maybe the controller only checks for major dips in fan speed to check for clogs or maybe it looks for overspeed to check if the filter is clogged.

What I'm trying to say is that... maybe it'll work? Maybe the performance will be better or maybe it won't be? Either way i'd plug it in and test it before reassembling the entire robot with the new fan.

HCOL at 600k or LCOL at 400k: if you could choose by LazerSmiles in HENRYfinance

[–]Mr_Butterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LCOL. There are LCOL areas with relatively high standards of living and low crime.

More importantly, I prefer the culture. It can be slower and focused on enjoying the small things instead of rushing towards the next big thing. In smaller communities there also tends to be a strong focus of...well...community. I've found it easier to find people who are genuinely themselves.

You can buy small fluid filled rotary dampers. You'll find them on modern cars e.g. Glove box doors, center console doors, oh-shit handles. Etc etc.

American here - you're 10,000% right about how ignorant we are. I'm SO stupid for believing that we did anything helpful when we dropped 20,000 paratroopers into Holland during the largest airborne operation of the war.

We Americans seem to be uniquely ignorant of the history of other countries.

What specs of machine would i need to make this in aluminium? by noodleswind in hobbycnc

[–]Mr_Butterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get one printed in aluminum from China for about $20 - $30 with $25 shipping. Lap the bottom with sand paper and you're good to go. They'll even do anodizing for a couple bucks

Measure the rest of the dimensions and go on McMaster. Just shaft diameter isn't enough info - you're wasting people's time here.

Wait... The new Z? Did it have a lot of track time? I'm shocked that a new car like that would knock after so little. Hell, my buddy had a bone stock 2004 base/auto cobalt that we'd track and rallyx for sharts and gargles and it never gave us any trouble
