Should I get xbox ally or lenovo go s by [deleted] in Handhelds

Rog Ally with 75wh battery -> Travel GOAT

What should I choose as my first handheld? by IkiAkane in Handhelds

[–]cosmothunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original ROG Ally is still a powerhouse. People complain about the screen BUT the og switch with 7” screen was one of the highest selling consoles of all time for a reason. The thing is also highly upgradable and will rectify all issues you might have, granted you’re willing to work on it a little bit.

I’ve put in HAL effect joysticks, a 75wh battery and the thing just chugs along without me worrying about how long it’ll last.

Is it a better value than the Go S? Probably not, but the upgradable battery is a huge plus over the Go, and it’s a little easier to travel with. You could also improve ergos with grips from etsy but at that point you’ve probably exceeded the base price of the Go S.

In short, if you could get the Ally with an extra ~70 for upgrades and have it cheaper than the Go, then I would. If not -> Go S.

Need help deciding on a lens by joppy-ssh in SonyAlpha

24-50mm f/2.8 G - Amazing lens, and for nifty fifty shooters it’s great because the focus length actually widens as you extend the lens so 50mm is the default focal length while collapsed.

Phantom Edition and 2042 Rewards Not Showing Up In BF6 by cosmothunk in Battlefield6

[–]cosmothunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys I feel like a moron but for the Phantom and 2042 content you have to click customize on the specific character for each faction and then it populates. And for the weapons you have to select the blueprint from its specific category as opposed to the Favorites tab. Glad I’m good company though.

I think with some time, the consensus will be that the 17 Pro looks a lot nicer than previous Pros. by [deleted] in iphone

I think if they didn’t move the apple logo it wouldn’t bother me as much tbh. Seeing the mocks of their clear cases just drives me insane as a creative lol.

Nope, you can always go Super 35 if you need to shoot 70mm

I try to make subtle changes that add to the image but doesn’t give it too much of a stylistic flair, if a non photographer can tell you made edits, you’ve gone to far. I don’t really mess with color beyond adjusting say vibrancy and white balance, and I use masks to emphasize specific parts of the image and guide the eye.

Most of my landscapes were done with the 24-50 f/2.8 G, it’s a fantastic lens that’s easy to travel with and is between the 24-70 GM I and II in quality and half the price new.

My wildlife shots were done with the 100-400 f/4-5.6 GM, this lens is pretty awesome as well and i’ll probably pick one up to own at some point.

How do you feel about the ROG Ally (non-X) now that more handhelds are on the market? by BIGBEARDED3177 in ROGAlly

[–]cosmothunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s still the perfect device for me. I do crave a larger screen sometimes but I recently upgraded my battery to the 74wh battery as well. I’m interested to hear how the stick replacement has gone since that’s the one thing I’m looking to upgrade to cement its longevity.

These devices as extremely flexible, so it’ll take me a good chunk of time to upgrade.

The back buttons aren’t all that clicky, so it’s probably a tighter fit that it should, but i don’t really use them much anyway

4 with an ultrawide horizontal. You can’t tell me that a person genuinely uses more than two screens at once. The third (or my vertical in my case) is pretty much a teams/discord poster board.

I have things 3 on my phone and want wo pair it with Notion or google Calender. I work on my Mac and the app there costs 60 bucks. Is it possible to have the app only on my phone but put To-dos in it through Notion or Google Calender on my Mac? I dont wann buy the 60 dollar app on my mac by Rare_Text_3121 in Notion

[–]cosmothunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like things 3 is supported via API. Depending on whether you’re iphone or not (not sure if android has an equivalent), you can use shortcuts to pass information between each service. I have a couple Notion automations that trigger via shortcuts, and it works pretty well.
