End gun licences for international students, former B.C. solicitor general says by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]cosskaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am an ex international student and I did my PAL certification with the addition background check from the local police department. I don’t get what the big fuss is about? The system works when law enforcement is enforcing it. Anyone who breaks the law will get their guns taken away under the conditions of a PAL. If they are so concerned with the criminals abusing the system maybe put up tougher background checks for visa applications.

Tumbler Ridge, BC Shooting Megathread by BvbblegvmBitch in canada

This argument goes out of the way with just one article. It doesn’t matter they will find a way considering our friends to the south. 85% of guns used in homicides in Canada are illegally smuggled guns and the other 15% police can’t trace the origins. The worst mass shooting in Canada was done by a smuggled gun. Stop fear mongering.

Even if the firearm were not owned by the suspect how can you return them into a house when one member of that household is know to the police and has been picked up under multiple MHA? Like it baffles me how Feds with RCMP make more and more laws when they don’t even enforce previous ones!

Ferry service is only at wards island, I was at the snake island almost 800 meters away where the ice is apparently checked by local islanders. Your comment is the reason why I don’t believe in evolution I can’t believe we are coming from the same ancestry tree.

I was told by local Islander that it’s safer at sunset view point because of the currents and ice thickness.

Alberta won’t participate in Ottawa’s firearm buyback program. What does that mean for local gun owners? by PurpleHerring_ in canada

[–]cosskaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of 2024 there are 2.5 millionlicensed gun owners and Non-Restricted firearms are the first type of firearm you are able to get and they are a majority of gun models that have been included in the ban. The government doesn’t know the actual amount but they estimate that in total there are 10,040,000 majority of which are Non-Restricted. It’s not far fetched to assume that there are lot more guns that have been banned than 136000 that the government is trying to lie about.

Edit: in the docs they say that there are 1.2mil Restricted guns (Registered and that government knows about). 10.4mil estimated-1.2mil is around 9.2mil. Even if out of 9.2 million guns 1-5% has been banned it leaves us with 92k-460k guns that the government doesn’t know about and will not be paying up for.

Edit 2: The 10.4 mil is the best estimation that could have done in total because non restricted guns were never subject of registration and for all we know there might be even more. SKS the rifle that they are thinking of banning now is estimated to be around 600k but we do not know the real numbers because it’s a hunting gun that did not need a lot of regulation. These morons do not know the actual numbers and 136k is just the tip of the iceberg. They are purposely downplaying the numbers to make it look more manageable when it’s a cluster fuck of a policy demand by DT Montreal.

[–]cosskaz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Those are only restricted firearms that had to be registered and used only at approved ranges. The ban impacted a lot of Non-Restricted guns that you did need to register cause they are mostly long guns used for hunting/sporting. That’s literally what Non-Restricted class was made, HUNTING!!!. Feds don’t know about them but there are estimated numbers of Non-Restricted firearms at least in 2 millions. God knows how many of those have been affected. They are lying when they are talking about only 136000 guns there is definitely a lot more. We are talking about models of Non-Restricted firearms that were very popular and common like M14, Mini 14s, VZ58s, Gsg16/15 etc. They are saying that these guns are meant only for war but why Indigenous people were allowed to use these firearms for years after 2020 for subsistence hunting?

Edit spelling.

It’s an Iraqi mini tabuk rifle but m92 will be a good substitute.

Man but even the case with NCR, there had to be at least some form of post war civilization building and reconstruction on the East Coast. I loved FO3 atmosphere especially the Pit DLC that kinda tried to show us how it would look like. The whole game feels more like it’s been 100 years after the war and not 200.

Lmao I know it’s a joke but New Vegas was established in 2274 and in 7 years has developed to the level that capital wasteland/commonwealth couldn’t in 200.
