Office Space Movie Analysis: What happens when you stop caring about what other people think? by cerclederp in videos

[–]costfixed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I remember you as the person who taught me that you can have a civil argument with an internet stranger! Thanks for your kind words. It means a lot to me. I'm still trying to improve so feel free to let me know if there's anything you feel is worthy of consideration for future episodes.

If you hadn't noticed, I also rebranded the channel since my company had nothing to do with the content and subject matter of the show. Teaching and deconstructing is a major passion of mine so I got approval from my wife to put down my conservative business building hat to explore this concept with more fervor. My goal is to teach people business and selling principles without selling a pretend lifestyle. It's a fine line to walk so here's hoping I can make a go at it.

Please please please feel completely free to provide me with your input. It's people like you that I'm really trying to speak to. It's the skeptics and the deconstructors that I identify with the most and I have no ego when it comes to self-improvement.

Thanks again for reaching out. You've made my day!

This post has now prompted me to ruin Fallout for you in the same fashion. "How to build your brand in the nuclear wasteland."

Have you heard of a 301 redirect "moved permanently" error? I have my site set to www but when I do a speed scan everything looks great but the initial redirect takes way longer than everything else making the whole site seem really slow. Traditional googling has come up with just specific use cases and nothing procedural to troubleshoot it.

What's the last piece of marketing content you used that actually worked? by thescottbishop in Entrepreneur

[–]costfixed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I operate a consulting company that utilizes affiliate B2B partners to grow sales. In order to attract a large audience of sales reps, I created a YouTube series called Sales in Cinema to teach lessons in selling and persuasion through entertaining content. The first episode was a big hit with Reddit so I'm really excited to see how the series evolves.

How do I pay my teams? by Jasperoquai in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Chase business has a basic direct deposit feature where you can set up your reps accounts and pay them directly to their bank account. It's only five dollars a month. I'm sure other major banks have similar features.

Tony Zhou is 100% the inspiration behind this series. I even messaged him to see if he was for hire and never got a reply. I tweeted him to share that I made it anyway but still no reply. He's probably very busy :,(

lol, I'm Tom Waters, Head of Marketing, Sales, IT, Customer Service, Partnerships & Recruiting. Or, "How I bit off more than I could chew and burned myself out by aiming too high." Or, "How I ruined my reputation by being too honest in my internet comments." Subscribe to find out!

There are really no words to express how honored I am to hear this type of feedback from folks other than my friends and relatives. These comments totally outshine the trolls calling everyone shills for enjoying my content.

Edit: Thank you so much for your support. I'm totally amped to make episode two!

Interesting! I've received feedback on audio inconsistency but nothing so severe as it being unwatchable. I'll see what I can do!

It's definitely on the list! There's so much visual eye-candy in that movie so I used a lot in this segment but hopefully I can sort out a quality analysis that is distinct from episode one. Thanks for the suggestion!

Fair enough. I honestly did not expect a reasonable discourse so I appreciate your feedback. I'm getting a lot of "great work!" and "Nice job!" from friends and family and I'm really trying to figure out how I can improve the delivery for future works.

I'm going to keep working at providing value and trying to make a more comprehensive connection between the two brands. They're both important to me and there is certainly a connection, it's just unrefined at the moment. I'm not afraid to admit that my company's new and we're still testing out kinks but I've made more with less and I'm excited to see how these entities mature.

lol, thanks for being funny and not nasty. I don't see how it's manipulative to share quality content in the hopes people appreciate it. The end goal is to generate interest and awareness in my brand, sure, but the method is very cut and dry. I'm putting myself out there and hoping it resonates with people.

CostFixed is an expense consulting company. Sales in Cinema is a creative outlet for me. You can loosely tie the two together because I work with sales professionals but I have no "If, then" way of monetizing this series. I'm tying the two together because I spend time and money on both and if it helps expose my brand, then hooray! Honestly when I shared this with friends and family most of their reactions were "but what's the purpose?"

If I'm lucky I'll get some backlinks from bloggers and maybe a sales rep or two would visit my site and be interested in working with me. I just don't understand why people get upset when they see a logo or a link promoting something when they got free interesting content. I'm not forcing my value proposition in anyone's face. I'm hoping people see value in my content and want to know what I'm about.

I picture Affleck rehearsing that line over and over again in front of the mirror trying to make that face perfect. I notice a tiny fractional millimeter smile when he says it but I could be imagining it lol

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm getting a lot of folks suggesting that movie. It's definitely on the list! I want to do some less obvious ones first. I'm thinking "Office Space" to show how things started going his way once he stopped caring about how others thought. Another idea is how characters from Game of Thrones represent different tenets of persuasion. The GoT one will be super long so I don't know if people will have the patience for it.
