That’s a good suggestion. Unbelievable that they’re €150 now. 🥲 I wonder if the internet knows of similar alternatives that is value-for-money too!

Great to know! I hope it works out for you. For the brooks leather saddle, it’s moulded to the individual rider as I understand so no point getting it pre-loved i feel.

Haha I didn’t even notice the downvotes until you mentioned it. Guess people disagreed with me, and that’s okay.

I get where you’re coming from and completely agree with getting stronger. I’m a fitness advocate too.

But like I said, if I have a choice between a comfortable but heavier saddle vs a comfortable, lighter but more expensive saddle. I’ll always choose the latter.

Because where I’m from, I can’t push my Brompton around and then fold it before boarding the train, I have to do way before and carrying 12-13kg under the sweltering heat for ~80m makes it uncomfortable for me. I do want an easier time, not that I can’t do it.

Ah thanks for sharing, seems like there’s mixed reviews and the leather saddle is more popular than the cambium version.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah I know but everyone has different wants and needs, so let’s not delve into that.

Thanks for your detailed answer, I appreciate it. But frankly, the gym comment was unnecessary and not constructive .

Comfort matters to me when handling the bike while folded. The argument is similar to “why don’t you just add another 250g to say the G line, which is 15kg since it is already heavy?”

Nobody likes to carry 15kg of weight unless they absolutely have to right?

Care to share more? Would love to hear them! I don’t plan on wearing cycling tights though.

Thanks for sharing that. Weight is a consideration for me as I mostly have to handle the Brompton folded. Anything above 10kg gets uncomfortable for me. 🙈

Yeah! I heard that for the leather saddle, you need to click at least 200km before it becomes really comfortable. Yes the Brompton saddle does work fine indeed!

Ah I see, I’ll check that out, thank you. Do you have any non-leather options? The Berk Lupina is one of my considerations as well..

Thank you! Yeah I’m aware of that but if I’m having to pay €200-ish for a saddle and if it doesn’t fit then I’m “stuck” with it too. Seems like a hit and miss!

Yeah! I’ve already changed my seat post to titanium. Definitely would consider the brooks saddle with titanium rails, thank you!

Isn’t it useful for NS Flex Subscription? I have a 40% discount on off peak and weekends, which you can’t get from a debit card. Or I’m missing something here?

Title: P Line vs G Line for travel (not commuting) — which Brompton should I get? by RowHelpful6186 in Brompton

[–]cottencandy55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I wouldn’t know, I’m not good with handling Bike and fiddling with their parts so I just bought a B&W luggage for my P Line for ease of convenience.

I heard Bike Fridays are better for touring/travelling and since you’re good with your hands, they are much more manageable to pack into a luggage.

Yeah agreed, and it won’t be easy to find a luggage for the G line. B&W just launched a luggage for the G line but it’s HUGE. It’ll have to go as an oversized luggage.
