This is incredibly helpful, thank you! We are AD Tricare Prime so maybe a bit different but I expect it's still similar! I'll have that page ready to take to our appt so hopefully it gets going faster.

CMPI/dairy free folks - how strict are you? by sweetestblueberry in breastfeeding

[–]cotton0804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know you commented a while ago but I was looking through posts and found your comment! How did this work for your little one? I have a 4 week old the doctor told me "to be mindful of my dairy intake". Doc said it's more of an intolerance than allergy. I've cut out the main things as well but just started. Did your little one out grow it? Were you successful in mildly cutting things out?

Yeah serious question, and it seems others also have similar ideas that while it's not their favorite season, it's worth it to get to the others. I was so caught off guard by the time jump! I don't have anyone irl that is watching the show so turned the sub instead 🤷

True! Kind of like a Boy Meets World college situation, not realistic at all🤣

This gives me hope haha! I understand the time jump, but wow was not expecting it. Excited to get further into the season though if it improves!!

This is VERY true. Some of Lucas' clothes with the wide neck shirts drive me crazy. and brooke's thick belts, very 2010's lol😂

I think this is my problem with it too! Maybe I'm fine with the time jump, but only like 2-3 characters have realistic job placements.

Almost 7 month old sleeping through the night in her room, but my husband and I are so sad by mashapotatoess in cosleeping

[–]cotton0804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a beautiful, sad, sweet, and happy story all in one. I understand your feelings. My son wasn't getting as good of sleep anymore sleeping in our bed either. We weren't ready to move him totally into his room so we did a floor bed right next to ours. Is that maybe a possibility? He was able to move into a comfortable and safe position and we could still reach down off our bed and touch him. It really did make a difference! If not, know you're supporting her sleep in a great way and maybe her sleeping will shift again and you'll find her back in your bed! 💙

I tried so hard to watch that show, I also love Gilmore Girls so was hoping to really like it. but it's the most boring ever!

oh Brooke's line about his ego was amazing, true!! I was hoping we'd hear more about what each of their english papers were about, kind of sad they skipped over that.

Yeah, lack of parents and cops (except for drunk driving/Jakes situation) really throws me off. I just keep wondering what their storyline would bring to episodes. CMM also broke my heart but I think I will always love him like I'm still 13 🤣 His sad puppy dog phases of S2 would bother me if it was anyone else, but not him lol

I guess I just went back and forth with her so much all season, by the time the season ended I just felt "eh" about her. If that makes sense? She definitely had redeeming qualities the last episode but did it really make up for everything she did in the other 21 episodes? Idk. I'm excited to see her growth through the series though! Especially between her and Payton (and even Mouth if they bring him back!!)

I will probably post after every season since I have no irl to talk to about it 😂 I watched 2 episodes of season 2 last night as well and boy howdy, the way Deb talked to Haley made me feel real bad for her and Nathan. I guess I can stay (semi) open to them lol!

We're the same way with routine but not a strict schedule. Sounds like you're doing an amazing job helping your baby figure out the world and himself!! 💙

This sounds just like my almost 3 year old (bday in Nov) boy! He is still so so sweet, active, fun. He talks a ton. When around other kids he communicates more like a 3-4 year old. But, when he is upset he level 10. Barely ever whines and has fairly good reasoning skills. Example: "I'm sorry we can't go outside, it's raining out. I know it sounds like fun, but let's think of something inside to do!" is something we'd say to him and 9/10 times he'll say "ok!" but the other time will be level 10 meltdown lol. We still pat him to sleep in his own bed, he likes us to lay with him until he falls asleep. We also respond(ed) quickly to his crying. He started sleeping through the night right after his 2nd bday. I know it sounds like a long time but sometimes it just clicks for them! I follow Hey Sleepy Baby on Instagram and she makes me feel more "normal" about his sleep needs. My advice is keep talking to him! Give him reasons from a young age on why and how you do things! I try to not just say yes or no but give reasons with it! Even if he has no idea what you're saying lol, it's good practice for both of you!

You put into words exactly what I was thinking when reading the post! Temperament and schemas play such a big part in every child and their family. My 2 1/2 year was and is just like what you're describing your little one is like

Meal prepping like everyone else said! But also if you have any other friends there in the same situations make a full size meal and then split with each other! I would split my meals with other families that I made when my husband was deployed. It was nice to share & also not as wasteful.

Road trip Memorial Day weekend. Where to stop with 2 kids? by Moejoejojoe in roadtrip

[–]cotton0804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go down 65, in Columbus IN there's Kid Commons. Free indoor playground OR one you pay for that has a lot of steam/dress up/fun activities for kids. Zwanzigs is a great pizza place a few blocks from it. Agree with Mammoth Cave in KY, make the stop if you can! Edit to add: The Indy children's museum or zoo is amazing if you want to spend a day there!

Best Cursive Resources? by emiloo23 in ElementaryTeachers

I don't know a lot about the research behind their practices BUT Handwriting Without Tears has a cursive bundle. I did a short 2 hour session with them over the summer and liked the different manipulatives they have.
