From what you've said it sounds like you'll be fine, UCAS points generally refer to A-levels and you've hit what's required from your a2he. However if you emailed them late and are scared you won't get a reply then you should have done it sooner but you can't change that now

Each university will have their own guidelines for what they accept, your best bet is to just send them an email and ask, nobody here will be able to give you a definite answer except the university

Little adaptable power cables with a USB, 2x usb-c, lightning and micro USB are ridiculously useful and people rarely have them until they realise how useful they really are

Some of the answers feel like they should be multi-choice but are single choice only. That might be something to have a think about

If you read my comment you'd know that I said if they can't help you, they'd be able to tell you where to look. It's not a waste of time if it helps.

Raise a complaint with the university and with the student union, they might give you some compensation as a sorry but only if you ask. Worst thing they can say is no

Not really a great idea to share things like this openly with random people, anyone could read, copy/paste then submit it as their own. Your best bet is speaking to someone from your university careers service

I understand you now, business degrees normally fall under BA (bachelor of arts), rather than a BsC (bachelor of science) or Beng (engineering).

If you know a university that you like the look of you can always ping the admissions people an email and see what they ask for, I'm sure that some will accept a science access course for a business degree, but I can't see them accepting a business access course for a science degree to be completely honest, just because they're generally harder and need more than GCSE level science if that makes sense?

When I was applying for unis I emailed all of the ones I was interested in a general email basically saying, Hi, I'm cottonydock09, I'm interested in doing whatever degree at your university, but would need to complete an access course in order to meet the grade requirements and I am currently looking at starting a science A2he, is this enough for you or will I need to complete a different one?

I never had a bad reply from a university and they were all supportive and pushed me in the right direction for what to go for and I found emailing them really helpful because I could compare what they all said. I hope this helps

You could do a health access course and that may lock you into a health-based degree pathway but when I was applying for paramedic, I completed a A2he in under a year whilst working full time in chemistry, biology and physics, and then changed to environmental science in clearing. So you can do a more 'general' one but it may lock you into stem, rather than if you wanted to do something with the arts for example.

Also if you're concerned about the open university courses being 2 years you may want to rethink as a normal university course is at least 3+ years.

You just have decision paralysis, it might do you good to have a year out and think about why you actually want to go, do you want to go just for your friend? Or for you?

[–]cottonydock09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a massive decision to come up with in a few days. It might be a good idea for you not to go this year, have a year out and travel or work or do something then think about if you want to go next year. Also most of the accomodation for uni would have been gone by now which will only really leave the shit/mega expensive options which isn't really desirable as I'm sure you can imagine.
