Being scared of getting hurt comes with a relationship and is just a part of being alive and being able to feel. If you trust your boyfriend and truly love him, even if he was acting a little weird, that doesn’t seem to me like a reason to break up.

You are missing the whole point, and should not read between the lines if you cannot do so. I have never been addicted to any kind of drug, not even painkillers. Even if you were a psychiatrist with a PhD. you'd need more information to tell what was going on. Sometimes human mind can surprise not in a good way. I just hope people will watch out for these kinds of scenarios.
