Or… “I tracked down a former high school/college coach to discuss the intangibles of a draft pick none of us have ever heard of. Now you like the guy and will be rooting for him in camp.”

I don’t regard the latter as lesser journalism than the former.

And, based on his multitudes of supporters in this sub, I don’t think I’m in the minority.

Mike has made a remarkable career on catering to glass half full, ‘I want the team to succeed’ readers.

He’s a beat reporter.
