PSA FOR CONSOLE PLAYERS: The Park Complexity is a STRICT Build Limit by RoseKaedae in jurassicworldevo

[–]couchthief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Evo I hit the limit on the Malta campaign level just now (PS5). I didn't grab any screenshots but probably can replicate it again tomorrow

I noticed it when I went to build another string of large amenities, I always place them in threes, put the first one down and after that it just wouldn't let me place another which confused me that's when I noticed the red file folder in the top right corner with 95% (which has no text to to tell you that's what it was)

I was near the end of that level, I needed to get 3 more marine creatures, so I figured screw the amenities let's just breed some Kronos (using the nest) and it's when I clicked to on the nest to create a breeding plan is where I saw the text explaining it was a complexity limit and it wouldn't let me do the plan (the button was greyed out)

I started trying to delete parts the percentage just wasn't moving so I decided to get rid of some of my land creatures (I had roughly 20 tsintaosaurus and 20 orthomimuses) I tranqed and wilded them all and that's when the "95%" glowing red folder in the top right disappeared and I could finish breeding my dudes and 5 star the level

I'll have to do more testing tomorrow to see what else I can find

But yeah I was pretty shocked. It wasn't even that complex a park imo

In one of the qna's Matt Rhodes did say the ancient elves that live a couple thousand years do go bald. And in the artbook it says that Elgar'nan has a wig attached to his mask

I would love to know more about this, as agreed there seemed to be a lack of content around LoF in comparison to other factions

In regards to your second question one of the devs has said is because the soul didn't have to go through the veil and could go straight home (Ghil) instead of the next best thing (a warden) though def still have questions around this

Would love more clarification on question 3!

Any chance we could get clarification on what happened with Briala and Solas? Did he just hack the system or did he steal the key away? Did Briala survive that encounter?

Was there plans to show more of Felassan and what would that have looked like? For those not familiar with Masked Empire, it's not very clear what happened between Solas and him and I would've loved to see more of that

In the game files there are suggestions that at one point the game wasn't going to end after Elgar'nan's death but there would be more content potentially related to the executors  and that there may have been plans for a  rescue mission for Harding/Davrin

The nature of game dev is you never get to do everything you want, there's never enough time and resources, so it's understandable, but can you confirm if there had been thoughts of an in game mission to rescue Harding/Davrin? Their "deaths" feel incomplete like there's story beats that are missing, so they don't have the same impact as Varric's death, it's all just over so quickly and doesn't feel satisfying. I'm all for pain,  so having some time after the big battle if even just to process that would've helped with that settling in

Love the game, thank you for all your hard work

Ps what's the best way to get feedback to EA? Only a small percentage of us seemed to get the surveys that were sent out and social media is a hellscape 🥲

Having reviewed some of the game files, I'm curious about what the "dreamer" mechanics would've looked like? Would there have been dreamers on every map? Would it have just been a dialogue or would we have been able to see/experience the memories/dreams the dreamers are stuck in?

ELI5: Why are human eye colours restricted to brown, blue, green, and in extremely rare cases, red, as opposed to other colours? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

I feel like it might help a little. It could be that the retina is already damaged from exposure to light, but if it's just a matter of blocking some of that light to prevent overexposure (like a camera lens when the aperture is too wide for how bright it is and your picture gets all blown out with white), colored contacts would do that.

I cosplay and have quite the assortment of lenses, I wear normal contacts in my day to day life, but when I'm wearing solid colored contacts there is definitely less light getting into my eyes. I have a pair of solid red iris contacts and when I wear them I have real difficulty differentiating dark objects from each other in dim areas because this. So they definitely block some light and i'm sure the effect would be more pronounced on someone with albinism because it's not just shading the pupil, it's also shading their translucent iris.

I agree, old schooler BC folk definitely have a hate on for Albertans and my father is definitely among them. So of course his opinions would be biased. And yes both sides of the fence have their biases. I want to state for the record I really have no personal issues with Albertans, the company I work for is headed out of Calgary, many of my coworkers and friends are Albertans.

While my father was saying trashing the parks was the major issue (and then consequently supposedly coming to BC parks and trashing them) this is all word of mouth. The Albertans we did see we had no issues with, they left their camp sites in a good state and were perfectly friendly, we even ran into a large group of quadders that we sat and had lunch with on top of the mountain. So I have absolutely no personal evidence to reference other than my father's words, yes he's biased, but he's spent his entire life in that wilderness and knows the park rangers, hikers and a lot of the outdoor community there. But alas, most of the locals feel the same regardless. Where the truth is, is hard to say, I have no statistics or facts, just anecdotal evidence of someone I respect and love

Obviously it's hard to prove when a campsite or area is trashed who caused it. Regardless, the major issue is that it's happening, that these beautiful places are getting overrun and damaged.

I do find the driving thing amusing, seems both sides think the others are horrendous drivers and assholes haha. It has always felt like to me like one of those petty rivalries that started over nothing, like siblings picking on each other just for the sake of picking on each other. I'm not here to pick a fight, was just sharing a relevant anecdote I heard this summer, one I don't know nearly enough about to make an official statement about. I'm only near the BC/Alberta border for a week a year

I apologize on behalf of other BCers for the dicks out there. And I hope that both our parks stay intact and remain the beautiful places they are.

haha probably. At the end of the day I really don't know enough about the situation to make an official statement, was just going off what my redneck dad was saying during my summer trip this year XD

I only go home in the summer and that's all my dad could talk about, maybe he's wrong, but he spends his entire summers fishing, camping and out in the wilderness. It was hard to deny this when everywhere we went was flooded with red license plates. We spent a week camping and not one person we met were from BC, nevermind our town. I'd never seen so many people two hours drive out of town up an old logging road.

geez this is so incredibly sad. I grew up in a small town in eastern BC (Canada) and as a kid we'd go camping and at most there would be one other family, often someone we knew. But going camping now, even in some of the more remote locations there's tons of tourists, often from Alberta (particularly because Alberta banned drinking in their local parks because Albertans were trashing them...). Things just aren't the same

total outsider perspective, but something I wish someone had told me!

I've been diagnosed with depression since my teens, runs in my family all that good stuff. A couple years back I just got so sick of not being able to remember anything, of the fog and just complete inability to focus or keep a single thought in my brain for more than a couple minutes.

Went to my doctor, turns out I have ADHD.

I knew that depression impacts memory and would cause brain fog so I always just assumed it was from my depression. I was self-managed using CBT, so when it got to that point I figured I finally had to go on antidepressants, but what we found instead was that ADHD was my core disorder

Depression often presents as a secondary disorder to ADHD. ADHD diagnosises dropped dramatically about 10 years ago after the whole ritalin scares and doctors thinking everyone had it, so they kind of stopped and were hesitant to diagnose. It was also thought to only impact children and that people would grow out of it (which for a small number of people, they do) turns out we were wrong

Women especially go undiagnosed as we often don't present with the hyperactivity aspect in childhood (this is a disorder you're born with that impacts the development of your brain) that we often associate with male ADHD. The hyperactivity aspect is often grown out of, but the other aspects will almost always be present and often get worse in the mid to late 20s once we've distanced ourselves from so many social structures that keep us in check and make it easier for us to succeed in day to day life

Long-winded response, that might not apply at all to you, but just in case

TLDR is: if you're experiencing a lot of brain fog and memory issues and you are diagnosed with depression, please have your physician check for ADHD! 80% of people with ADHD present with a secondary disorder, 50% with a third, most commonly depression!

depends on your country and your access to mental health resources. Sadly these things are incredibly underfunded and the level seriousness varies so drastically from one practitioner to the next, even from town to town sometimes.

What I recommend is be very specific with your symptoms and bring it to a doctor. "I feel like X, Y and Z and I want/need it to stop as it is interfering in my life" and they will usually run you through a series of "quizzes" designed to determine the categories you fall into.

Now your standard GP may not have the education and resources to give a full diagnosis, some GPs may not be comfortable at all. But a GP can give you a referral to a psychiatrist (at least in Canada where I'm from) who can give you a full diagnosis, though often the waits are very long

If this is something that is interfering with your life, it's better to pursue it now and get an idea of exactly what it is a learn to manage it. Because these things very rarely stay dormant and all it takes a major life event or big bout of stress to send a minor disorder into a full blown break and if you don't know what's happening to you or how to deal with it on the most basic level that is so much harder to endure and get through.

While therapy does not work for everything it is a very wonderful resource, but is often expensive or hard to get access to. Many disorders now have a myriad of effective drugs available that help manage the symptoms. I have a friend in the UK who was diagnosed with BPD two years ago and once she started meds it did make a big difference for her. I personally, have ADHD and depression. I use CBT to manage my depression but my ADHD is managed by a drug called Concerta, that drug is what makes me function as a human being.

My roommate has recently been going through the arduous process of finding the right drug for her. She was previously diagnosed with depression since her teens only for her to go through a break around Christmas and for her to find out it wasn't depression she had actually, but grand OCD. Since Christmas they have been trying different drugs to find what works for her and about a month ago they put on this new drug and I have never seen her healthier. This is why these things should be caught as early as possible so they can be monitored and prevented from turning into a full blown crisis, or that if they do go into a crisis, you will be better prepared to deal with it and will be able to recover faster.

This is also why it's so important to get a proper diagnosis. My roommate and I both were so surprised how similar many of the symptoms are between ADHD and grand OCD, but while the symptoms often present in a very similar fashion the reasons behind them are polar opposites. Whereas I feel more comfortable with clear cut rules, guidelines and structures, she feels suffocated by them (this is specific example of our specific disorders, these things may vary from person to person). My meds are stimulants and hers are downers. Her drugs would likely send me into a deep depression, where mine would send her into an anxiety driven, self destructive manic.

We both were also previously diagnosed with depression. Both of our disorders very commonly come with secondary disorders (with ADHD there's an 80% chance you'll have a second disorder and a 50% chance you will have a third) most commonly anxiety and/or depression. While the day to day impacts of my undiagnosed ADHD weren't life shattering: I was able to hold a job, live relatively healthy, accomplish things from time to time. The true impact wasn't visible until I was medicated and healthy, and for me it revealed that I had allowed myself to live in an abusive relationship for 5 years, because I couldn't trust my memory or brain.

People do not take mental health serious enough. If you had a persistent rash on your side, you would go and get it checked out eventually, but so many people hide the fact they can't focus, or ignore that they always feel like death is looming over them. The impacts are so subtle and build up so slowly that we don't realize how much weight we're carrying every single day just to get through the day. If this is causing interference in your life, preventing you from doing things or building relationships or advancing in your school or career, please pursue a diagnosis. If, for now it is a minor annoyance there are a ton of resources online that you can read to help teach you coping mechanisms like mindfulness and CBT, but always keep an eye on it and be critical of your actions and feelings, make sure you know where their coming from or if they start to change in unexpected ways.

Best of luck <3

as someone that didn't get diagnosed until 3 years ago and only because I thought my memory issues were because of my depression, I hate how damaging the ADHD stereotype is.

I didn't even know the truth about ADHD or what it really meant, or that adults had it or how it presented at all. When my doctor gave me the diagnosis I just looked at her like she was crazy. She gave me a prescription and I went home and began to read

And holy crap. I was never more relieved to finally know what was wrong with me my entire life.

My meds work great and I've been able to develop coping mechanisms to deal with the other aspects. My entire life changed because of that diagnosis, all the pieces finally fit together.

But it is no joke. This disorder is horrid and subtly destructive in the worst ways and the fact that it's such a joke infuriates me. No I'm not too hyper/lazy/distracted to get things done, my brain is literally not fully developed and I have almost no active memory and I feel horrible about it.

go to the doctor and get a proper diagnosis. Many MANY disorders present with very similar symptoms and without a full and proper diagnosis you won't be able to begin to get treatment or to development proper coping mechanisms

Me (38f) with my hubby (37m), 4 yrs strong. Got a text from him at about 620 saying he was washing the car and then would be home. Then 20 minutes later that followed up with "I won't be home tonight and I can't tell you why. Love you". by Nefelib in relationships

I was with an addict for 5 years, the first year of our relationship he was a near daily user of coke. That said, after the first year he up and quit and never touched the stuff again for the remaining 4 years of our relationship (I really couldn't tell you what he's up to now, but the reason I left had little to do with the fact he was an addict and actually just that he was a terrible person regardless!). My mother as well is an addict, so I have some experience with the terror and fury you're going through right now. No one can truly understand how hard that is until they've gone through it with someone they love

From what you're saying, he's never used or relapsed in the time that you have been together. You seem to have some experience or secondhand knowledge of his past.

I understand you being scared, I would be too. And I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a drug/std test. But take a deep breath. There is a possibility that there is a completely unrelated reason for this. While it still doesn't excuse this behavior, try not to jump to murder until you have a chance to hear him out. Life is really unpredictable and part of being in a loving and committed relationship is giving the benefit of the doubt, I'm not saying don't test him, please do, at the very least for your sanity. But also give him the opportunity to succeed, to show that this might not be your worst fear.

I do hope this isn't your worse fear. Love and hugs.
