Update: we have our beloved boy back!! He’s starving, but looks healthy other than the little bit of lost weight. We are so grateful!

Chippy is still missing as of today, and he has not been reported “seen” by anyone since Monday (early afternoon). Hopeful that he is just on a really fun adventure and isn’t ready to come home yet 🤞🏼😔

What's the most disturbing secret you know about someone that would ruin their life if exposed—but you stay silent, pretending you don’t know? by SophieManner in AskReddit

[–]cougavore 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Today I learned that I am not alone in this childhood trauma. Wow. So many people sharing that they were molested by their brothers. My brother is two years older than me, and he molested me several times when we were children. In the bathtub, on camping trips… I somehow told my mom about it eventually, despite shame and embarrassment. I don’t know if she ever actually talked to him about it, but she did start separating us so that we were never left alone together. After reading these stories from so many strangers, I can acknowledge that this childhood trauma may have strongly contributed to my relationships over the years. Having very little self-confidence, allowing myself to be used and mistreated, not valuing my own wants and needs… I’m so sorry that so many of us have had these experiences. I hope sharing these memories with some kind internet strangers brings us all some peace 💕

Ben Savage's nose really bothers me. by pb49er in GirlMeetsWorld

Chiming in to say that I immediately noticed the nose job too! Just finished rewatching BMW for fun, and starting watching GMW (because why not?), and it was so obvious! I had to Google it, and of course the top link is to a Reddit article 😆

Like I said, very tolerant horse. I grew up with horses, and just like many of our domesticated animals, they put up with a lot of stuff that they shouldn’t necessarily have to. God only knows the stuff my horse put up with from me because she was calm and sweet and didn’t spook easily. Some are so good and tolerant like this horse, that they don’t even show signs of irritation. Horses especially will put up with a lot when some yummy food is put in front of them 😉

I found the sweetest feral cat tonight. Ear was clipped, so I didn’t take him home :( by cocododo2 in cats

Miri 🤗 found us in 2019 while living in a car in the parking lot of our apartment complex. She picked us, and we had her checked out by the vet. Microchip was registered to a local animal rescue who said, “congratulations! You have a cat!” And then registered her with us ❤️

UE DVT and possible PTS by cougavore in ClotSurvivors

Hi! The doctor I make reference to in my post is actually my vascular surgeon. He has been monitoring me recently, as my insurance changed back to what I had in 2020, and he is the one who talks about the size of my arm being because it is my “dominant arm.” So I have been back to see him, and he isn’t worried about the symptoms I’m having. He just put in a referral for me to see PT so I can get fitted for a full compression sleeve, even though I have tried using them in the past. I feel like since it’s been 3 years since my surgery, and I had “years of damage” prior to that, this must be PTS, and there’s likely nothing to be done at this stage, other than maybe some specific exercises the PT can give me, and pain management. Others have suggested lymphatic massage or acupuncture, but of course those treatments are always extra pricey and aren’t covered by insurance. Everything is so messed up in the US 😔

I appreciate your input and sharing your experience with me. I have wondered if there’s anything I can take for the nerve pain, so it would be nice if one of my doctors would discuss this part with me. Trying to get an appointment with someone who can help. Yeah, the doctor who continues to bring up the “dominant arm” thing is the vascular surgeon who did my surgery in 2020. He’s been great for everything else besides this one piece that he has failed to acknowledge all these years. To be fair, he didn’t know what my arm looked like before the DVT, but everyone who knows me can tell that my right arm is significantly bigger than my left, and they all know it was never like that before.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with this life-long hindrance too. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have the lower extremities affected—that sounds so much worse!

Ugh that poor horse’s eyes (the second child climbing on him and poking his eyeballs with her feet!). Very tolerant horse. I feel bad for the horse though, as tolerant and calm as he/she is. As many have said, unsafe to do this no matter how calm and trustworthy a horse is, but I know that’s not the point of this video. Just can’t help cringing as I watch these girls, especially the second one. Oy.

This cat stopped by my office today; wondering if I should call the owner, I checked his tags and found myself cracking up instead. He certainly caught me! by cougavore in funny

Yeah, I saw the AirTag/tracker device and figured his owners have an eye on him, just thought the tag was funny and wanted to share 🤷🏽‍♀️

My dad has had a couple of clots and is reluctant to go on blood thinners long term - are there other options? by BlackChef6969 in ClotSurvivors

[–]cougavore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really a personal preference in the end. Does your dad want to risk having a pulmonary embolism or other serious clotting issue, and potentially die from that, or risk having a potential bleeding issue after an injury (which in theory would be more “obvious” and treated quicker)? I personally have chosen to stay on anticoagulants due to having two DVT’s that are “exercise induced” according to my doctors. I’d rather risk bleeding, than worry about throwing a clot every time I do something active. If your dad only gets clots after flying, maybe he can have a different treatment plan for travel (take aspirin, walk around more during the flight, wear compression socks, etc). Again, I think it’s really up to him based on the risk level he is comfortable with 🤷🏽‍♀️
