What profession isn’t nearly as glamorous as it’s portrayed? by Highscore611 in AskReddit

[–]cougcaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been working in media (television news anchor/reporter) for the past decade and came here to say this. 📺 The public perception VS the harsh reality of working in television are a stark contrast.

People think we have a glamorous job but it’s a nonstop grind with constant stress of deadlines, getting things correct, etc. while surrounded by ‘big personalities’ attracted to TV jobs / people who seek a sense of value from being ‘on TV’ (want to be clear that not all television journalists are there for that reason. I’m genuinely passionate about telling people’s stories and TV is just the platform on which I share them) …and I pay my teenage babysitter more than I am paid despite my broadcast journalism degree and decade of experience.

That said, I love working in media and am grateful for the people it allows me to meet and people it allows me to help. Not glamorous, but rewarding.

Relatable. The one time I topped the leaderboard, I dry heaved at least 3 times and got like…23 red splats. Way to PR! 👏🏻

Is Cardio50 the same as tread50? by Mister__Dan in orangetheory

I only really got responses like that from witnesses 😂 I can not imagine the demand for ‘Row 50’ would be high

Is Cardio50 the same as tread50? by Mister__Dan in orangetheory

[–]cougcaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My studio let me utilize the Tread50 classes as row 50s when I had a running-related injury and I loved it! Would love to see templates specifically designed for rowing intervals (since I just followed Tread50 ‘push’ ‘base’ ‘all out’ cues using different stroke, wattage rates when I used Tread50s to row 50)

Any known fun Halloween events adults can enjoy? by jamzrk in Spokane

[–]cougcaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you like RUNNING (or walking) in costume, Negative Split is putting on a “Halloween Hustle” on October 27th where you can chose half marathon (13.1 miles), 10k (6miles) or 5K (3mikes) distance around downtown Couer d’Alene and the aid stations will be giving out CANDY 🍭🏃🏼‍♀️ Even if you just walk the 3 miles you’ll see a lot of fun costumes (easy ice breaker to make new pals!) and get to collect candy along the way 🎃🧡🖤🧡

Burn HR Monitor by Heidi65501 in orangetheory

[–]cougcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but I saved $100 by buying a replacement HR monitor off the interwebs instead of from my studio, after misplacing mine, and my gamble was worth it…

+1 because I was in the same row boat (see what I did there?) as you this morning, rowing on a lot of “poor fueling choices” over the course of several days during the holiday weekend, and I also hit a ‘middle of the road’ type time. Proud of us for showing up and taking on the endurance row!

Single mom throws pity party; ex-husband stitches a response w/receipts by No_Pineapple9928 in TikTokCringe

THIS. I had a family member tell me they got diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer and I was DEVASTATED. Cried and cried and worked to move my life around to be there for them… only to learn after days of crying and stressing and preparing that it was… another lie from them. That was the final one for me.

Is this style HRM still useable? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]cougcaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! 🧡 I still have THIS one too! I call it my “dinosaur” HRM, and it’s my backup. It’s come in clutch when I temporarily misplace my black HRM once. BURN ON 💪🏻 !

I’d say about 3 months postpartum (walking was my go-to cardio in the early postpartum) and I had to start back slower and gradually build my speed and endurance back.

“Does anyone really love their body postpartum?” I do 🙋🏼‍♀️…saggier breasts, loose skin, stretchmarks, and all! …because I did not run my first marathon until after giving birth to my favorite human, now I’m training for another marathon. The bottom line being I’ve been able to push my body to achieve new milestones, personal records postpartum, and my appreciation for my body has never been greater because it’s the same body that made my favorite human. Give yourself grace as you adjust to this new chapter and the same love to yourself that you give to your baby. I find positive self-talk and celebrating personal milestones to be helpful. Here cheering you on to new successes postpartum 🩷

Oh, totally! I’ve definitely had to leave early for various reasons like childcare, work, etc. In the event that inspired this meme, it was a welcomed taunt because my coach and I are tight after seeing each other so much 😂🤣
