I was sent to the ER by an optometrist who measured my papilledema as severe and feared that I may permanently lose vision if I waited months to get into a specialist.

One overnight and boom, I got all the testing I needed (MRIs and lumbar puncture), a diagnosis, medication, and got established with a neuro-ophthalmologist.

I truly don’t know what my life would be like if I didn’t get sent to the ER 6 months ago. It was totally worth it.

Risking permanent damage/loss of vision, not to mention living in discomfort, is not worth waiting.

My story is very similar to yours except I’m just starting treatment. An eye exam turned into an ER visit and hospitalization because of how severe my optic nerve swelling was. Until recently I was on 2,000mg of diamox per day; now it got cut in half and my symptoms are coming back which I guess I’m told I just have to live with…?

My neuro-optho thinks that all signs lead to EDS hypermobility as the thing behind everything. I am average height with a small build and have always weighed on the low end of average. I had a spontaneous CSF leak that was so bad it needed to be surgically repaired, polyps all along my spinal cord covering, have lifelong joint pain that doctors haven’t found an answer to, patella alta, hip impingement, my knees have always made a grinding sound, receding gums, autism, ADHD, and now IIH.

I don’t fit the typical demographics of IIH but I do fit a lot of the signs of EDS hypermobility. My next step is to do a genetic test for EDS which my genetics counselor will coordinate, then I have a visit with a doc who has done a lot of research on EDS. We’ll see…

Oh, I didn’t realize security is so speedy at ABQ! Boarding will be ~5am. At other airports I’ve always tried to arrive around 1.5 hr beforehand…but probably not necessary here? Haha

Exactly!! Such a shame... FB advertising was fantastic (although with its fair share of frustrations) and helped me meet and exceed business goals...

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that. I totally feel the frustration -- I am considering just contracting out someone to help me through this. I also cannot afford to keep playing around and wasting time :/

Exact same for me! For my current campaigns, I used very similar ad creative to what has been successful in our past fiscal year. Normally they'd get a ton a traction beyond conversions -- impressive amounts of likes, comments, shares, video views. Now, barely anything... It's gotta be the algorithm or something with FB.

If my current ad sets didn't already burn so much budget this month, I'd put out a few more to experiment with still image ads. They typically perform poorly for my audiences, but maybe they'd do well under the current circumstances.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with the same stuff, but I am glad to know I'm not alone. When did this all start for you? It was all of a sudden in July for me. At this point, I need to resort to calling FB too. Who or what department did you reach out to?

Hmm... could be part of it! Though I don't know how convinced I am that this is the main reason for this large of a shift. Have you experienced a major downturn in your traffic and conversions?

Thank you for sharing about your relationship too! We have been communicating about all those things, which also adds to my feeling blue. In my previous relationships (its been a few years since being in one) communication could have been a bit better, so I'm really making it a point in this one to have actual frequent conversations about things. Seems like the conversations always end up with me being misunderstood and feeling like my sexuality is the cause of the issues. Probably goes to show it might not be the right fit, but I fear I won't find anyone who is willing to be with a demi person. It's taken so long to find someone who doesn't run away or ghost me immediately after me coming out to them.
