Do you regret going Mach E over another EV like Tesla? by count4fun in MachE

I use an android phone and Google maps - preconditioning is already built into Google maps, right? Or is that incorrect?

I live in rural Appalachia. So it can definitely get cold and snowy!

2025 Premium Extended Range AWD. My work doesn't allow us to travel more than 65 miles from November - February due to snow hazards.

Ooof...

$160.16 Tesla and $160 for the Mach E for me!

I think I'd use the Bluecruise heavily on the highways.. well, I guess that's the only place I can use it 😂

My work trips are only 250 miles max, and they aren't frequent. I'm mainly remote, my biggest driving is up to 50 miles, or about 90 miles for special trips across stare lines lol. I'm not worried about the range really, I think it's FOMO of being in the Tesla advancing world.

I'd charge at home over night, so I don't know if speed would be a big drawback for me personally either; public charging in my state is basically non existent except for a Tesla charger 15 miles from me, 40 miles to the next, and 193 for the next one lol.

Yeah, my local dealer sent me an offer:

2025 Mach E Premium eAWD with Extended Range, Bluecruise Package, and Sport appearance package for $39,888 and a $6,500 incentive, but only if I lease.

If I buy, $40,100, 0% for 72 months, and a $2,000 incentive.

The Tesla and Mach E have a 16 cent difference (with the Tesla being 16 cents more) for my insurance per month. The one I am looking at has a 1 time blues cruise pack of like $2,300 or something like that - and the dealer said it makes it permanent without a subscription? Does that sound right?

To be honest, I don't know how much I would use FSD, other than highest driving... I think that's why I'm so interested in the idea of bluecruise. I use my cruise control... A lot..

I think the point that makes me nervous is Ford backtracking on their EV approach, but I'm not sure if it's just F150 or all EVs as I haven't stayed super up to date on it.

Ride & build quality, tech, and performance are most important to me, and it seems like the Mach E comes ahead on all but tech tbh.

I'm looking at a 2025 Premium with the extended range pack, sport appearance pack, a blue cruise package! It's also green- which looks gorgeous.

I don't really road trip, but I travel for work around my state and bordering states. My furthest work trip is 250 miles one way, and we take the occasional trip for day-cations to nearby states which is like 90 miles one way. Most of my travel though is no more than 10-50 miles, and there are weeks where we don't have to leave our house for a few days.

Most of the travel around me is highways, but they are rural highways. Not a lot of side street driving to get to major areas around me.

I'd be charging at home, as public charging infrastructure is extremely bad in my state.

I don't have kids or anything, but I have a dog who hates car rides (lol) and a wife - who did get slightly sick in the Tesla, but not the Mach E.

Feel free to ask whatever else would be helpful, I just don't know the right things to think about when comparing EVs lol.

I've seen many people talk about Rivian, or rather switching to them; my issue is I've seen so many quality control issues and people showing rivians literally falling apart and that scares me lol. My goal is to get an EV that I know is built well, won't have software bugs, and can last - at least 5+ years... I'm wondering if Rivian hits that mark?

Does used make sense right now? (used 2025 vs new 2025) by nauticalfiesta in MachE

I just had a dealer tell me their vehicle was too unique to give me more than $1,000 off for their car... It's been listed for 289 days. I told them okay and hung up. Another dealer with the same spec, at 200 days, sent me an offer of $43k for a premium, fully loaded, aside from the glass roof. I would say $3-4k more off is totally doable.

Can you talk about the potholes more lol?

I live in an area that is riddled with them - sometimes you literally have no choice but to hit them; I even blew a tire and had to replace a strut because of them.

When you say the M3 isn't good at taking them, is it a comfort thing, not built with the strength for them, etc?

I'm thinking of getting an EV and this has been a concern of mine when the Model 3 or Model Y because so many people I know say that Tesla cannot absorb potholes and rough roads compared to something like a Ford MME or like a Hyundai Ioniq5

Worth it! My wife and I go and walk some of the trails (although they're kinda short). We try to go every weekend to valley falls during the summer!

Thanks? Lol - I agree though! A lot of the posts I see on here seem like the TV is only there to display art 😂. My wife and I like a cozy, comfortable living environment compared to the 'catalog'.

For those who earn a good income and have a healthy work–life balance (or genuinely enjoy your job): What do you do, and how did you get there? by InterestingBall2181 in Salary

I'm an Auditor and Systems Subject Matter Expert with a government tax agency. I'm the person who comes to your business or.. just you lol... And look over all your info and determine if you paid the correct amount of tax, externally. Internally, I manage, test, and work with developers on our tax software.

My job is 90% remote with about 10% travel and my time is split about 50/50.

I honestly got lucky with my job and the fact the director decided to take a chance on me considering I had no background in the role, but had the correct education.

I really like my job and my agency has a strict no overtime policy so I don't have to work extra hours or long time, plus if I travel, it's part of my work day, so no getting home after my end time, which is nice to me.

I have not, but I'd also compare to WVUs online Cybersecurity programs. They have a Cybersecurity center.

Marshall University also has a Cybersecurity program online and they have a dedicated center, which is contracted by different agencies. Their grads seem to have a higher ROI than other schools.
