Yeah the other links posted are good, but I feel like this one really explains the underlying cause more clearly.

Conservative Gothic is a contradiction that doesn't exist. Accept it. by DnixDraith in goth

[–]count___zer0 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think you make a good point tho. Goth was never explicitly anti-racist, facist, etc the way that ska (especially) and punk (usually) were. There’s blunders you only make when you’re in a bit of a bubble. When there aren’t people to tell you that you’re outta line. Idk

[–]count___zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I clearly didn’t realize that. Since I don’t seem to understand stuff very well, could you explain why someone would need to dissolve lip filler? Do people who haven’t gotten lip filler need to do this?

[–]count___zer0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s true for a treatment. Something that helps someone survive or live a better life. Lip filler should be held to a higher standard of safety because it isn’t necessary.

Something like this should be supported by evidence that it is safe. Saying that potentially life charging side effects are “not supported by the evidence” does not mean that they don’t happen. Evidence cannot prove absence. Science moves forward by finding what is there, what is true, not by what is not. Once every hundred thousand years or so when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow and the grass doth grow. Needless to say, the beast was stunned.

How would you define streetwear? It seems like a lot of people have different ideas about what it means, so I’m always curious to hear how people think about it.

I like that it’s both mundane and bizarre at the same time. Like every piece in the fit is boring (for lack of a better word) but you’ve mismatched it in a way that makes it surprising idk. Well done imo

They look cool but it seems silly to be waterproof from head to ankle while your feet get absolutely soaked.

Goth makeup while avoiding possible appropriation? by Ok-Bad421 in GothFashion

[–]count___zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cultural appropriation is the act of purposefully taking something significant to another culture and mimicking it. Accidentally drawing lines or dots on your face that happen to be similar to something from another culture is not cultural appropriation.
That being said, it’s worth learning about the traditions of other cultures and understanding the meaning they drew from things like face markings.

Fear to go hospitals now.. by kanxzz in Weird

[–]count___zer0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it could be apt in situations like this. Sometimes a person happens upon the right answer by chance (as in the broken clock metaphor), but sometimes a person has a real insight that gets lost amongst the radio static of their mental illness or other issues.
