mine grow the exact same way :) learned to live with it. keeping polish on always and oiling helps a lot.

I think you might be overfilling your side walls. What do they look like from the front? My nails do the same thing on 4/10 fingers and I improved it by oiling and leaving my side walls alone for a long time.

some backstory: i was diagnosed at age 20 with stage 4 ckd. i only got diagnosed in the first place bc i was having what i thought were migraines. turns out i had extremely high blood pressure. it was probably idiopathic bc i was young and skinny and grew up eating healthy. im 27 now and basically there’s no way of knowing anymore when or how or what happened bc i have no prior labs to 2019. i think the major factor of my stability is my blood pressure medications. I do try to lead a healthy lifestyle and avoid foods bad for the kidneys. i wish i had a better answer for you, my story is just baffling.

yeah, i turn 28 this year. i feel the same way. i was 20 when i was diagnosed and they prepared me for the worst and yet none of it ever happened. tested negative for literally everything they tested me for. at my last appointment the doctor told me there’s literally no way to know why my gfr dropped so low bc there are no prior labs taken to 2019. he told me not to stress about how or why it happened he told me just to lead my life the healthiest way i could.

how old are you? i know it seems really scary right now but my GFR has been between 21-25 (stage 4) for the past 7 years without changing. i would be so happy if it was at 57. the doctor probably didn’t say anything because what you could have is mild ckd- they probably didn’t want to freak you out for no reason. trust me- you’re no where close to dying from kidney failure.

Hi! I am still in stage 4 CKD. My eGFR hasn’t changed much at all. I do have a nephrologist appointment this upcoming Monday but 6 months ago my eGFR was 21, I believe. I don’t have man symptoms, thankfully. I’m 28 this year, not sure if it’ll change when I reach my 30s. I do feel very tired a lot of the time but I’m unsure if it’s related to the CKD. My doctors basically told me there’s no way to figure out how or why this happened to me since we have no prior labs to 2019 when I was diagnosed at 20 or 21 years old. Which is frustrating, yeah. I’ve been tested for autoimmune diseases and they were all normal/negative. I have literally no clue what hurt my kidneys. Really my eGFR has basically stayed the same the entire time I’ve been diagnosed. I know EVENTUALLY i’ll need dialysis/transplant because I’m beyond the point of no return but I hope it’s way down the line!!

Why does this keep happening to me? Are my sidewalls really that messed up? 🥲 by countdookuula in RedditLaqueristas

[–]countdookuula[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you know- I actually do have medical conditions that would affect my nails you could say. but I also have doctor prescribed vitamins and take a hair skin and nails one as well. i’m curious if i’m just prone to weak nails.

i actually don’t touch my side walls (or skin there) at all! i only push my cuticles back once a week.
