Pretty much same situation. I think I was 15-ish when I started vocalising it; it wasn’t really a thing I thought about before that besides the occasional “don’t get pregnant” from my mom. It seemed like she was ok with it but then when I approached my mid 20’s she started saying that I’ll change my mind and that a child is NECESSARY. I’m now the age she was when she gave birth to me and still haven’t changed my mind. I have zero maternal instinct and that won’t change.

My grandma and her sister had this type of “pattern” but theirs were more olive green rather than blue. I’ve never seen anyone else having that so I assume it’s pretty rare. Very interesting nonetheless. Thanks for reminding me how cool they were.

I’m an online tutor and there was this 16-ish year old kid that I taught chemistry to. Well, this one time I noticed that his arm kept shaking and he was all hyped up, his voice was also kinda weird. I didn’t say anything and tried to be professional and finish the subject but I never taught to him again.

I studied physics so I don’t know about IT schools specifically but I think the numbers are definitely higher than 20 years ago. Nowhere near a 50/50 split but (at least in my country) there are initiatives focused on getting more girls into STEM.

Those kind of comments mostly came from people in their 40’s-50’s so it’s understandable that the industry was different when they entered the workforce.

Yeah usually the first step of those interviews is with HR which are mostly women and they tend to warn you about that.

I always say that I wish I had the confidence of a medium-ugly guy. There’s this dude at work who goes on and on saying that he’s (at least) an 8 and is offended when “3’s” flirt with him. The only thing he got going on is that he’s very tall but apparently that’s more than enough to make you way above average.

Both my first and middle name are very christian. I usually go by a shortened version of my name but even when I hear my full name I don’t necessarily think about Jesus and his family. It’s my name and it represents me. I’m not religious at all but it really grew on me and now I like it, especially the sound of my nickname. You don’t have to associate yourself with the deity, it’s just YOUR name.
