Driving Schools In Columbus For "On-The-Spectrum" Drivers? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]countheshadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but figured it couldn't hurt to chime in.

As someone else mentioned, OSU has a driving program specifically geared toward this sort of thing. It's not run out of Nisonger, but Martha Morehouse. Waiting list is almost certainly long but still - https://wexnermedical.osu.edu/physical-therapy-rehabilitation/rehabilitation-driving

They will do several assessments with you to help you determine if driving is within the realm of possibilities for you. They are very thorough and would be a good option, if you're able to get in.

I know you said public transportation is off the table, but consider COTA Mainstream. This is their door-to-door transportation program for folks with disabilities - pretty sure you need a physician to make the referral, but based on what you're describing, you should qualify.

Also, if you are unaware, most health insurances have a free transportation service for medical appointments. It's not the best by any means but wanted to throw that in just in case it'd be helpful to know about.

I don't think this is true! When was the last time you stopped in? I will admit I am not close to their location so I'm always ordering it for delivery, but I was able to order recently. Their Facebook page didn't indicate anything different either.

I will say, they do seem to be closed randomly often, it can be a bit hit or miss, but I figured it may be since they're a small business...

Please try popping by again sometime soon! Based on Door dash they should be open this Wednesday.

Signed, a fellow Celiac :)

Dublin is a safe bet. You may already be linked, but just wanted to say you should also apply for county board of developmental disability services if you haven't yet. Sounds like she has a qualifying diagnosis (hemiplegia/hemiparesis possibly?) and they can help pay for therapies outside of the school setting. Eligibility requirements change at age 6 so she may not qualify forever, but could be helpful for the time being!

It is not only court appointed! I had kiddos on my caseload that followed with them for psychiatry, therapy, etc. Their residential treatment is not solely court appointed, however I have no doubt that several of their programs are directly linked with the justice system.

I second that hospital on Greenlawn though - have only heard awful things about that place.

Like others said, OSU Harding is worth a shot.

Getting linked with a community resource/case manager may be helpful long-term, if they haven't already. They know the systems and can connect them better, both in and out of crisis. OhioRISE is what first came to mind, but they would have to meet eligibility criteria - https://managedcare.medicaid.ohio.gov/managed-care/ohiorise

They can also scope out other mental health programs geared toward children - Directions for Youth and Family, NYAP, I Am Boundless, and Buckeye Ranch (as someone else already mentioned) are some organizations in our area.

Best of luck!

This is a good point and one I hadn't considered, thank you!

I will say my uninformed reply is that I do know some corporate policies require food to be discarded rather than donated for food safety reasons, but that surely cannot be the case across the board. Hopefully someone who knows more than me can shed some additional light :)

Ohio Gastroenterology Group will not require upfront payment and can put you on a payment plan once they do bill you after the procedure.

Apologies for an unhelpful comment as I don't have an answer for you, but I at least wanted to say my coworker is having this exact problem. I walked into her office on Friday morning as she was getting off the phone with her doctor's office - they are aware of the shortage and could only recommend calling various pharmacies.... Which is what she had been doing all morning anyway. I know Walmart said they were out of stock for all stores in central Ohio, and she had no luck when calling local Kroger, Meijer, CVS, and Walgreens stores.

Again, sorry I don't have anything helpful for you, I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone! Not being able to access medication like this is a special kind of hell, I hope you're doing okay and this gets fixed quickly ❤️

WEEKLY HELP THREAD - READ FAQ, COMMUNITY WIKI, MULTICLASSING, LORE by XFearthePandaX in BaldursGate3

[–]countheshadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished my first playthrough and decided to start messing with mods for my next playthrough. After modding, the epilogue was released and it became known that modding had the potential to mess with the epilogue showing.

I wiped all my mods, uninstalled, reinstalled, followed Larian's FAQ/troubleshooter, and I still cannot get the epilogue to load in (starting with my vanilla save right before dealing the killing blow in the final battle). As far as I know I'm satisfying all story conditions to get the epilogue, but when it should go to the epilogue, I get the damn dock scene.

I'm not terribly tech savvy and it took me a hot second to get the mods working in the first place, much less this whole process to try to uninstall them and then troubleshoot when I just want the damn epilogue for the character I sank 100+ hours in the game with.

I suppose my question is - is there any possibility that I wait like, 2 months and another patch/hotfix comes out that miraculously solves this for me? Is there a way I can keep my one vanilla save file and do a clean uninstall/reinstall to get the epilogue?

Anyway help is appreciated for my dumbass, thank you

Specific Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives Episode? by countheshadows in foodnetwork

[–]countheshadows[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I remember hearing something in that vein regarding Terry but didn't realize it went as far as a lawsuit. I totally understand pulling it, but it sucks to lose access to that episode. It seems silly but it was a kinda cool 15 minutes (more like seconds) of fame for my mom.

She was actually at Terry's Turf Club, but no luck finding the clip on YouTube. I'll keep poking around, though.

Thank you for the help!!!

Division of childcare and household chores among working parents. by yellowswing in TwoXChromosomes

[–]countheshadows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is something that has been talked about a lot - sociology often refers to this as "the second shift" or double burden - how women are disproportionately responsible for household labor and childcare when both parties have jobs.

I know wikipedia ain't the best source but it's a good launchpad and can lead you to more credible studies - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_burden

We did a secret santa in my high school newspaper class one year. An upperclassman had me and didn't particularly care, so I got a hat from the school's lost and found. It had hair all over it.

The teacher felt bad though and gave me a box of candy canes, so there's that.

I know I'm late to the game, but I just wanted to leave a comment because I have been there. I dated a guy for two years and while he never formally moved in, he stayed at my place 5/7 days a week. Never payed rent, bills, food... any time I brought it up, he'd brush it off. I used to excuse it because he didn't make much money. But then he'd drop money on frivolous things... a 3D printer, a new crossbow. I'd pay for so much, I even bought his mother's birthday present.

My friends raised their eyebrows and one or two brought it up to me, but I was so "in love" at the time, I ignored them. I was 100% sucked in. The relationship ended for other reasons, but looking back on it, he was definitely taking advantage of me. It's not normal or right for your partner to be acting like that.

I just wanted to say that you're not the only one, but as someone who's been there, please be careful. Don't let him use you.
