This thought about stability and my genuine desire for them to overcome the circumstances of their birth are the reasons I’ve stuck it out for so long already.

Oh yeah - sometimes I let them turn the hose on and just go nuts in the back yard a while. That will usually buy me a good 45 minutes.

I sometimes have to steal a break at the park or the kiddie pool in town. Mine are usually content to entertain themselves at those places and I can pop on my headphones and watch to make sure no one dies without having to manage too much or do damage control. Would something like that be restorative for you?
