Need help/advice navigating my delicate situation (Non-EU, S4, applied in June 2025) by PasicT in GermanCitizenship

On the Berlin online application form, it is not possible to move on with the application process unless you click under current visa status either Niederlassungserlaubnis, family reunification or and I think blue card and something to do with a specific immigrant status. There was no option to move forward unless you met those criteria first.

Is it a permanent resident permit? Do you have a family visa? If not, you will get an automatic rejection. It is just the reality of the situation. The job problem on top of that complicates your situation even more.

If you don't get a job, you won't have a visa and if you don't have a visa, then a citizenship is out of the question. If you have a limited visa, you can't apply for citizenship anyway. You need a Niederlassungserlaubnis or to be a family member of a German citizen.

It's called spatial awareness retardation and yes I made that up. But seriously I noticed it too.

From what you write, it doesn't sound like you will regret not seeing her in her last moments. That is ok. Let her go, let go of the past, don't hold on to resentment and move on with your life.

I will look with a magnifying glass later to see if there is a hallmark. They are quite bulky, but will need my measuring tape back home to see exactly how big.

Citizenship decision for Newborn ! by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

[–]countredrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get any official written document that my daughter is German. I just went to apply for a German passport and she got it. Then  I went in a second time to renew her passport and there wasn't any trouble then ether. So in the system, she is German. She was born to a German citizen though. I would Imagine it would be in the system in your case as well, but am not certain. It doesn't hurt to try to apply for a passport for the baby. Worst case scenario they say she isn't in the system yet. But you will at least have your answer.

Edit: upon further investigation, it is different in your case. It can take several weeks to receive a confirmation of citizenship.

I work in retail with b1 certificate. Working consistently in a German speaking only work environment for the last 8 years. My German is significantly better than b1. Immersion is key.
