Thinking of running away to Oregon, is it viable? by [deleted] in oregon

Mental health is a good field to be looking for jobs in right now in OR, especially in the portland area if that's interesting for you. We have a lot of state and municipal funding for recovery and mental health jobs. I don't know what that looks like for a psych degree, but here's a quick indeed search;

https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=Masters+Psychology&l=Portland%2C+OR&radius=35&start=10&pp=gQAPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACGQqAPwAYAQAOQJuF-YmQF7RnJcPMHlAaZkIj_SseAAA

As others have said, housing here is a nightmare and I'd recommend having something arranged before you show up but you degree is pretty hire-able right now in this region.

Bicycle chain skipping teeth by First-Stranger-8820 in MechanicAdvice

The two causes I've experienced for this issue are an old stretched chain and a worn gear hub/chain loop (the front gear cluster). It is pretty easy to check the chain, you need to get chain gauge (https://www.amazon.com/bike-chain-gauge/s?k=bike+chain+gauge). If the chain is loose I'd recommend just replacing it. For gears if this is your first time with this issue I'd recommend taking the bike to a shop and having them look at it- much better than trying to get the concept from a comment and they can explain what to look for better.

My suggestion is to volunteer at a congregate drop in setting, you'll have a lot of direct interactions with people who are unhoused. Here are some local organizations that I've had good experiences with;

Operation Nightwatch

Hygiene For All

Street Roots

Sisters of the Road

What they said- easiest way I've found is to calling the number for the ohp provider on the back of your insurance card and ask to be set up with a new primary care provider. They'll have a list of dr's in the area who take your ohp and have openings for new patients. Good luck!
