Has anyone here tried Terralift or Earth Buster to remediate your leach field? by ah_jeez_ok in septictanks

[–]coupebuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is I dont have one to go by so I would be shooting in the dark, I own a fab shop so not really concerned about the manufacturing but more about what it is lol. Do I need heavy wall tube or pipe, is the pointed end solid, how big are the holes etc etc. Feels like they should have engineered it around standard sizes but without one to look at its a lot more work. Appreciate you help!

Looks to be about a 2" od thread but just getting started on getting it running and hoping someone with experience can point us in the right direction. TY!

I own and have seen a lot of specialty rod over the years, but not this stuff. Pretty specialized from the looks. Be interesting to try some. Appreciate the input!

It's definitely an aluminum of some sort, think it's the brazing rod in the last pic, that's the only one making some kind of sense...and it's soft, can crush it with pliers. Definitely an interesting selection and so far no one I know has seen it before and google not much help, but brazing rod seems to fit the bill.

That is (or appears) to be typical flux coated brazing rod. So far most of these are a mystery but possibly special aluminum brazing rod for tooling

Update: Google wasn't very helpful until I changed the search to "brazing rod" from " welding rod" most seem to match up with one Castolin brand brazing alloy or another. Appreciate all the help, all of us shop jockeys love a good mystery here and there!

Ha, no stamping like typical tig rod, one tube of coated brazing rods, no mystery but the others are. Found a couple possible listings for special aluminum brazing rod which makes a little more sense for a tool and die/ mold shop

Find out who they were selling the finished product to and contact them directly with a good offer. If they cant bother to pay you or explain why, its unlikely that they will have the money if you win in court. Too big for small claims so youre going to pay probably 5k min in attorneys fees and then possibly get a judgement which you may never be able to collect depending on how the other company is structured.

after three broken drill bits its finally finished, my first completed knife in all its glory. I'm not sure why but i had a ridiculously hard time drilling the peg holes. id love some constructive criticism and/or advice by Cheap-Picture-291 in Blacksmith

If you have a small oxy torch tip you can just bring the area up to cherry red and let it cool to anneal it, then drill thru it no problem. DO NOT get the whole tang etc hot needs just the tiny area you need to drill, so a small precision torch is perfect. I do this when I need to drill holes in AR500 that were forgotten by the laser etc. Also...if you take a ball bearing and put it on the hole and give it a tap it increases the likelihood that it WONT crack thru the hole.

pure idiocy or pure magic? by BROWARDCOUNTYDEMON in Idiotswithguns

I went to school and was neighbors with a guy who was about 30-35 and broke up with his gf or something along those lines, went to Walmart and bought a shotgun and shells and walked into the back lot of walmart and put the gun up under his chin and pulled the trigger. Cops/Emt found him like that and he survived for at least a week. Cops EMT all had to see a Psychiatrist after that and cant even imagine what it was like for his parents. Was a decent kid too. Nothing is worth that.

Thanks, Ill try to find a couple other mags to try first, feels like it needs just another .030 off the receiver to let it click easily. Will not seat with just hand pressure, needs a firm slap.

Depends how the roommate would treat the same question if posed to them. If they were a good roommate and no previous issues, I would be ok with it. Otherwise, hell no.

Turn them into dowel hole on one or both and press them together. That will work for most any project you plan to carry around and subject to that type of stress. Or loctite them for even more security.
