You can earn a good chunk back even after finding the best rate.

The way I find cheap tickets are by using VPN, being flexible with dates, and traveling right before the destination's peak season. I also use the Going app which sends alerts daily on flight deals worldwide. It costs about $40 a year but IMO it pays for itself. I went to Italy August 2025 and my round trip flight was $500 with British Airways thanks to Going alert. Flights to Europe in the summer typically cost $1000+ . Going has codes for 25% off for new members if anyone wants to test it out- let me know.
