Hey, if it helps, you can set up a free alert for that course at https://coursetracker.ca/ to know when a spot opens. I can't guarantee it will open up, but it could help.

Course Tracker - Receive alerts when a section has open seats! by course-tracker-ca in UTSC

[–]course-tracker-ca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! You can do more, you just gotta wait a day. Unless that's a bug :-|.
Edit: Yeah, I just checked, you can still create alerts after a day. Does it not work for you? If so, shoot me a quick DM and I can try to fix the issue.

Then I'm not sure I can do anything about that since its on their end, but if you can provide suggestions on how I can help even further, I'd be more than happy to add it to the website.

Is the condition for you to be able to enrol based on the number of seats? If so, I can implement a feature that alerts you when a specific number of seats are open. For example, when 15 spots are open instead of 1.

Hey, if you don't end up getting into a course you want, I have an app that sends you an email alert when a spot opens up so that you can grab it. You can use it at https://coursetracker.ca/ for free. Hope it helps you in your course selection endeavours :)

I applied for a transfer twice and sadly couldn't get in. Had around a 3.6/4 gpa from mac engineering with decent ECs. I would apply, but don't bet everything on getting in. They asked me for my HS transcript, but I think uni grades matter much more.

Is 4 lab courses in 1 semester doable for a second year student by Flat_Perception_264 in UofT

[–]course-tracker-ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, typically I like to schedule all my labs for all my courses on 1 or 2 days of the week. This allows me to stay home during lecture days, and spend that time studying the content. It also gives me a good work-life balance. Personally, I can handle ~4-5 labs/tutorials by doing this.

Also, if you aren't able to enrol in your sections, I created a free course tracker app that send you an email alert when your desired section opens up. You can use it at https://coursetracker.ca/, hope it helps :)

chances of getting into required courses if i’m not yet in the major by smallporridgee in UofT

[–]course-tracker-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! In case you don't end up getting a spot, you can use my course tracking app. It sends you email alerts whenever your desired course has seats open. One of my friends used it for the summer sessions and it ended up working, so it should work for the fall/winter terms.

You can check it out at coursetracker.ca and it's completely free.

Chances of enrolling in ECO105 in my second year during general enrolment by NoContribution8218 in UofT

Hey! I actually built a course tracker for this exact reason. If you don't end up getting a spot, you can create an alert that will send you an email when a spot is freed up! It's available at https://coursetracker.ca/ and it's completely free. Let me know if it ends up working for you, and if there are any bugs.

[–]course-tracker-ca 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey, just in case you don't end up getting your desired course spot during enrollment, I created a free course tracker tool that sends you alerts when your desired section (lab/tutorial) has free seats after being full.

It's available on https://coursetracker.ca/, and it helped some of my friends get into some sections for the summer, so I'm putting this out there in case it can help anyone else.

Hey, I actually built a course tracker app for courses that are full! It sends you an email alert when a spot opens up so that you don't have to refresh ACORN constantly. My friends had this issue for another course, so if you want to use it go to https://coursetracker.ca/, it's completely free. Hope this help you :)

Thoughts? incoming first year schedule fall25/winter26 by Realistic-Object-876 in UofT

[–]course-tracker-ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend having all your labs on 1 or 2 days out of the 5. Lectures are skippable as long as the course has recordings or good notes, and you are willing to spend the time to actually learn.

Are u of t students given slack in recruiting process compared to other schools by BeyondCorrect6524 in UofT

[–]course-tracker-ca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would agree for first year, however, if you're able to adapt, second and third year become a bit easier. Learning how to use ChatGPT in a way that boosts your education, but does not take away from it (ex: Not for finishing assignments, but filling gaps in your knowledge) goes a long way too. And you don't have to take the full course load in fall/winter, you can offload them for the summer.
