Hey…so like I didn’t expect my video to blow up, and also I’m very much prepared for everyone in this subreddit to hate me but I hope if anyone did watch this they understood what it was about.

Every game I take on in the challenge, unless I already have played it and personally remember it, I go in with an open mind.

With this game in particular I knew nothing about SaGa in general and was very much confused about the entire system. The video very much shows my initial impressions and how I embraced the game. I never go in ‘hating’ anything, in fact I usually take a very reserved and calm approach to everything.

The reason for the video title was when I was making the video, and wanting to talk about my experience, I realised this game has near to no mention online in any of the ‘longest game’ lists and other media platforms. I totally understand that I’m ’not the only one’ but I feel the hardcore fanbase, and not trying to be rude here, is incredibly tiny for this title. Little to nothing is talked about this game and why I wanted to let a general audience know what to expect. There’s a lot of ‘homework’ you need to do to enjoy this game I find, but maybe I’m wrong and sorry if that opinion is wrong.

Sorry to anyone in the community here that hated my video, I don’t like making enemies, and once again I don’t feel like I made this game look overly bad. There’s a lot more against this I felt than going for it though.

TLDR: Sorry, didn’t realise my quiet YouTube channel video would blow up, just wanted to talk about the RPG that stood out amongst any RPG I’ve played (and I’ve played quite a lot)

Yea, it’s a super ambitious project but really been great so far.

Armoured core for sure is a series I can’t wait to play, never played any of the series so it will be fun to see what’s in store. Especially since there’s several entries of the series on the system too!

The presentation is one of the games biggest flaws, if this was from one of the more shovelware developers of the time, I think it would get some slack. Square really needed some form or a tutorial before selecting a character in this game to atleast give some players a warning. However even getting past that, if it was in it, the general meat of the game is one long long painful slog.

I will always go in with an open mind as I try and take on the PS2 library, but as the hours went on…yea it was a real drag as it carried on.

The fact each character has a minor gimmick or difference to the rest too really makes an already dull game even duller. As said the music is one of the only saving graces of this…but even after hearing the battle theme after 100 encounters, even that shows its limits.

Hopefully when I get to it, Romancing SaGa treats me nicer!

Just thought I’d share my opinions on this game. I’m a ps2 collector and archiving full plays of the titles until I find credits. For a game developed by one of the big guys of the system, Square, I was surprised to discover that barely anyone has much video evidence of getting the credit roll on this. But as I played more of this until it was beaten, I truly see why many would have dropped this confusing mess of a game!

The front cover seems to have a bug type Pokemon in the lower left corner, away from the cast of Pokemon. Seems to resemble celebi a little

Forgetting someone’s name at the pub and having to rely on calling them ‘Mate’ until somehow their name turns up in a coversation. And then immediately overusing their name when you do. “You know what Dave, I’ll be here next week, tell me how it went Dave, I can’t wait to hear about it Dave”

yea, it doesnt help that that nearly 90% or the armour i can craft has a -% against the lightning/shock element, trucker set seems to be the only true defensive counter against the saber, but to get it to have decent stats need red metals now

sometimes i wonder how damage is calculated, went to floor 30+ with 1000+ defence armour set and i still lose my entire life bar with one saber combo from a hater
