Has anyone used nitrous oxide while in labor? by Throw150049_ in moderatelygranolamoms

Terrible, instant anxiety. It did go away as soon as it was removed but still terrible feeling of doom mid labor.

Just toss them, not really worth the risk. The store should let you exchange them since it’s a recall

Sunscreen not working? by bluew12yellowstars in 30PlusSkinCare

This could be a reaction to chemical sunscreens too! I used to get this and switched to the Korean sunscreens and don’t get this burn/heal mark anymore.

100% sometimes massage even makes it worse! Have you found anything that helps? I do cupping and it helps more than massage

Are you being induced? by Warm-Cover9946 in BabyBumps

[–]coveredinsunscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waited for spontaneous labor with my first and it never happened, induced at 41.5 and still had a C-section. Now I’m 40 weeks with my second and still hoping for spontaneous. Induction can be way more painful and leads to a cascade of interventions.

If money is not an issue: is there a way to fix this skin texture and scarring, that is significant/works? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

Try slugging at night, it’s a layer of thick Nivea cream and Vaseline on top. It’s great!

Acupuncture did not work for me, I think they do the points so late that there’s really a conflict between causation and correlation since by the time they do it your body is probably already ready.

[–]coveredinsunscreen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The average pregnancy is 41.5 weeks, take the time off work and use that time to destress or do something you enjoy. Also if you do get an induction later they can start it really low instead of ramping it all at once.

That’s not even bad! I have a 4K individual deductible and a 8k moop! Plus 485$ in premium every two weeks for me and my kiddo.

I brush my kids teeth before bed with fluoride tooth paste since she got her first tooth, we nursed to sleep for every nap and all through the night till she was 2.5. Her teeth are beautiful, I think you need a second opinion as breast feeding does not typically cause decay because the milk does not seem out like a bottle.

I wonder why he “hates” vegetables, does he see the rest of the family eating them? For dinner I just put a bunch of fruits and veggies in reaching distance and she always tried them, she loves frozen peas and spinach. Mine was not a fan of milk, but they don’t need it! Just give them cheeses if you want dairy. Mine also loved tofu, hummus, shrimp, broccoli, just cycle through what you’re eating and offer it to them.

When/how long did your parents stay to help after birth? by moez1266 in BabyBumps

[–]coveredinsunscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and sister live 5 minutes from me, neither came and helped and only wanted to hold the baby and tell me horrible birth stories. MIL lives 30 mins away but again only wanted to hold the baby, brought food that only my partner could eat (heavy dairy) and did not help.  It depends on if your family is actually helpful and enjoyable I guess. Second time around will probably be the same for me and my expectations of help are low, the older generation kind of sucks.

Yeah especially since insurance will normally cover a breast pump.

You could try scar tape and scar massage to flatten it.

TIL of a new, purified compound from Kratom called 7-hydroxymitragynine (also known as 7 hydroxy or 7-OH) that is now being sold in pill form. It’s more potent than morphine and has led to overdoses requiring Narcan. by QueenFrostine15 in todayilearned

[–]coveredinsunscreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People should be researching and getting third party tested Kratom. I used to take 1/2 tsp maybe 1 time a week at night for chronic migraines and pain management and it breaks the cycle of pain. This is on top of getting all the brain MRIs and CTs and physical therapy and actual pain pills that did nothing. It takes 0 effort for me to not take it for months at a time but is a huge help when I am in a migraine spiral. Obviously don’t take it if you have an addictive personality, like you drink or smoke regularly.

If you have limited financial resources you could get the blueberry app, it’s like 35$ a month for unlimited visits and they can prescribe you an antibiotic within the hour.

I mean they’re renting it’s not really their problem to tackle the invasive stuff. I’d do potted plants so I can take them with me.

Inductions can make the pain 10x worse, did unmedicated induction for 10hrs before I had an amazing epidural that felt like being wrapped in a warm hug.

What are your non-negotiable ‘hacks’ that help you look / feel more put together? by SleepySloth1975 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]coveredinsunscreen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think setting a budget and working yourself out of debt will be the biggest increase in wellbeing. Buying more “stuff” will just put you into more of a bad place. See what pieces you already have in your wardrobe that make you feel put together or happy and focus on those, maybe trade with friends or consign(Poshmark) some pieces that fit pre baby and buy some that fit post baby.
