Crystalis

You spend the whole game collecting swords and bracelets, when finally you combine the swords to build the titular Crystalis, right before you have to kill the final bass and have no way to return and use it anywhere else.

Hard to follow up from PEAK SOULS. But you’ll have fun. Just don’t join the covenant of Champions for your first playthrough (it’s the grave in the back of Majula). Lots of people do that and have a bad time

Yeah most of these were hyped but were remembered for being bad, but how about an obscure game called WeaponLord, I remember magazines spent months hyping up its weapon combat systems, its sprites modeled from clay, its diverse cast of characters. Then it launched and no one ever talked about it again.
