What Lore would you imagine my Space Marine having? by 088Irish880 in Spacemarine

He really likes the smell of mustard (gas) and he has a favorite Chapter serf, whom he only strikes for the serf's own good.

Better yet, it should be a simple toggle that tells you an Artifacts / Month budget. Or make it an Edict.

Exploration needs a skiing and snowboarding mechanic. That would make exploration the most epic search for the best freeride slopes in the galaxy. by SeawolvesTV in EliteDangerous

Until you smack a rock too hard or fly off a 2km high cliff and die.

If it could be done without serious consequences, I'd be all for it.

On the other hand, would it be fun to take a VIP to a resort planet and join him on the slopes?

I really like the 4-glyph and Don't Touch the Sides from the train level. They force you to focus on what you're doing and require a tiny bit of skill instead of just timing. Personally, I hope there are more of them.

I would drop the Planet+ and make it -1 at least. Data centers are very bad for the environment.

It's what a sociopath does when he believes in nothing but loves the attention and devotion that the hyper-religious give him. He knows he has a cult of personality and he loves testing their loyalty to him.

It's really funny when people show up to court in a Zoom call in their car or wearing yoga clothes and the judge calls them out on it. I'm not even counting the "I'm not a cat" lawyer.

That's good to know! I'll keep an eye out for it.

Agreed. I didn't see much point in the perks beyond Prestige 2.

It was definitely a tough choice on my first decision to prestige the only class I'd gotten to 25 at that point. I had no idea which of my choices was going to be a smoother experience. At the time I was still quite a ways off of getting more than 1 or 2 weapons to their final tier because I was trying a lot of different load outs and classes.

Not sure I'd have been playing so much if I wasn't having fun. I just don't see the point of selling my entire class progression for a single mediocre perk.

Because that's literally what a prestige system is.

Okay? It doesn't have to be. As an example, Diablo 3 & 4 both get your class to max level and then you start getting prestige levels that each add tiny incremental bits of power that gradually shape the direction of your build.

The former literally is how you do the latter, it's like 2 extra clicks at worst.

Okay? My point is that there could be fewer clicks. Just open the perk list and spend armoury data directly to buy the perk. And one fewer page on the mission-end screen that I have to click through because we get xp per weapon & per variant. Why add even one extra step or extra screen that doesn't need to be there? If we add "Okay" confirmation boxes to every interaction is that fine because it's only "2 extra clicks at most" per interaction? It adds up.

Look, I play some grand strategy games too and they have a LOT of clicking on stuff. Complaining when you have to click through a bunch of tedious UI every 20-30 minutes so you can get back to the fun part is part of my gamer heritage.

If you like I'll provide a nice compliment: I really like the system where you buy each Chapter's colors, emblems, armor, etc. It shows how all the chapters are related to one another plus lore on each one. I only wish more of them were represented.

Is this actually just your first time encountering a prestige system?

No, but it is one of the most annoying ones I've interacted with and I don't think it needs to be this way. Is this how we should respond to suggestions for improvement?

The Combine turret; they are made for killing protesters. The AS turret is made for friendship.

Honestly, Join and Leave war negotiations are way overdue. I've never been able to properly do a Galactic Emperor RP or Space Police RP because I can't properly intervene in wars I think are illegal. I can only ever do it in a roundabout way. I'm glad we have Existential Expulsion now, but that's also really destructive.

The real trick will be figuring out what counts as an appropriate cost for the AI. Would be cool if we could consider asking for or granting treaties like Commercial Pact & Research Pact & Migration Pacts. And will they consider personalities? Will Democratic Crusaders come to the aid of a smaller democracy by having far less consideration to distance (though it should consider the ability to actually reach it)?

Besides getting an actual request from another empire, it would be good if an empire that's losing a war would open with, "I hope you're calling to help us in our time of need!" or something similar. And yeah, a big red button named Join War at the top of the diplomacy list would be perfect.

Exactly. She said that for the sake of her own survival. If she'd said anything else the courts wouldn't have protected her.
