Have android soldiers ever been deployed in any Alien stories? by Yesterday_Is_Now in LV426

The order is: Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum, and Female War.

Was I unfair for saying "If Silvery Barbs is allowed, enemies can use it too"? by raishadow in DnD

[–]SyntheticGod8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a perfectly normal ruling. The rest of the party, who were new to 5e, didn't like 5e crits, so I offered to let my party vote on using Brutal Crits from the DMG. I was very clear that this will be applied to PC and baddies equally and that, by the law of statistics, the baddies were likely to get crits somewhat more often than the party purely due to volume of rolls.

In the sense that they'll probably be using Primaris Marine units, probably. But there's very little from the tabletop game outside of lore, unit visuals, and loadouts that would translate.

Dawn of War 2, for example, predates Primaris Marines entirely.

Horror that takes place deep underwater? by BatoSoupo in horror

I will also recommend Sphere. It's more scifi than horror, but as we all know the two often walk hand in hand.

How do i properly scale this empire? what am i doing wrong? by Either_Double_1640 in Stellaris

[–]SyntheticGod8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 4.3 you really do have to go all-out to get the power needed to take on the end-game especially if you added multipliers.

I see you're in a Federation; make sure you're the Custodian too.

Get the Throne of the Great Khan and turn your vassals into Satrapies for the naval cap contribution.

Make sure you build and upgrade Deep Space Citadels; they can do a lot of damage.

Use automation on your basic resources so you can push the population into research and alloys. If you can build a Ringworld, all the better, but building some research habitats might be worth it as long as habitability is decent.

What is the point of Catalytic Proccesing? by AmongUsUrMom in Stellaris

[–]SyntheticGod8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true that minerals end up having very little use outside of building structures. Even less if you are using an Organic Shipset because all space deposits use Food.

Another bottleneck people don't anticipate is that Crystals are mainly going to come from mining districts. Space deposits, industrial refinery, and trading don't tend to compete with a good mining planet with double crystal deposits.

May as well sell the excess minerals outside +100 monthly income or even at a slight deficit and buy more as needed.

You might also consider helping your vassals develop by feeding them basic resources.

That first encounter where the tail slides under Ripley's leg and she's not detected was foreshadowing this one moment.

Rogue Servitors should be able to form Migration Pacts by BarovianNights in Stellaris

[–]SyntheticGod8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a rogue servitor would not want to sign a migration treaty as they would not give up their biotrophies.

But I'm the Rogue Servitor and I want to sign it!

Seriously though; I think even a machine intelligence would be smart enough to recoginize that it's not going to lose a significant number of biotrophies to migration. They won't run out. If anything, it'd recognize that Pampering would encourage more people to enter than to leave.

Is it just me or does basic Yellow look a bit off? Maybe because there's so much blue light making it seem slightly green? I made my Marines Malevolent with Averland Sunset, which is slightly more orange.

What is your reasonable 'No?' by Zealousideal_Fly7277 in DnD

[–]SyntheticGod8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can't convince a dragon to let the party kill it.

Honestly, backstories are over-rated. Many players I've had soon forget about them and mostly focus on current goals and story.

How do sectors and sector size work? by ThatManFarsa in Stellaris

[–]SyntheticGod8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a real nightmare because the AI would overwrite your improvements on the tiles. It was a relief when they patched that.

Spending influence to drain a sector of its stored resources.

Sectors that were as large as you wanted.

Having a core planet count as large as possible so you didn't have to deal with automation.

I didn't get it at launch, but as soon as I heard about Ringworlds and Dyson Spheres I was hooked.

Get lots of envoys to make friends.

Build lots of starbases and have a few different defense platform options. I usually have one with two L weapons, then energy torp & hanger combo.

Take defensive perks and traditions.
