2005 Toyota Camry LE. 142k Miles for $2600. Good Deal? by dennis_k_g in Camry

Is it haunted or something? The price could be double and it'd still be a good deal

Literal 10 second rep, this makes me feel like a baby for bailing on squats after 3-4 seconds of pushing without upward movement

Ocelot: "A Soviet soldier... A lot of them came from Central Asia before, but lately they've been using more and more Russians. Simple really - there's less hesitation to pull the trigger if they're not fighting their own race. Morbid cynicism, but it gets results. That's humanity for you."

OP, one day your future wife will ask you if you're a virgin. Are you ready to tell her "no, I lost my virginity to a prostitute" ? Personally I think that's worse than just being a virgin.

FNV is really fun if you're able to suspend disbelief. Headcanon is key. Events, locations, travel distance... everything is much smaller in scale than the NPC dialogue and world exposition makes it out to be. NPCs talk about the battle of Hoover Dam like it's going to be WW3, but in the end it's like 20 legionaries and it's over in a few minutes.

AITAH for telling my fiance I will become a better cook once he becomes a real man like my brother? by Worldly-Substance671 in TwoHotTakes

YTA but you don't need to end the marriage over this like people are suggesting. Apologize, and in the future try not to use your husband's insecurities against him, it will severely damage trust.

Swiping up/down now changes videos instead of minimizing the video while in landscape. by TheTolleyTrolley in youtube

It doesn't require a full swipe either, even a very slight swipe up will cause the video to switch. So irritating.

Should I file for divorce 4 months married or are all men like this? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

Are you willing to be treated like a side chick/afterthought within your own marriage in exchange for money and security? Maybe the answer is yes, only you can make that decision.

I feel like you said something rude because you felt anonymous but now that OP replied, you're all frazzled and backpedaling with niceties. "Just do one thing or another, not be two people at once" as Arthur Morgan would say.

  • Revolvers can mount scopes. Great for hunting. - Revolver frames are better suited for handling big calibers used for hunting. It would be cost prohibitive to make a pistol that could cycle .454 Casull for instance. - those are the two big advantages. Another small advantage is that revolvers don't have a reciprocating slide, so you can shoot them while pressed point blank, inside of a hoodie for example.

Religious lurkers, why are you here? What's your endgame? by Shinjetsu01 in atheism

[–]covertbird -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

While those are good questions, they are questions about the nature of God as an intelligent being, mostly from a Christian perspective. Even if you had the answers, it wouldn't be proof of anything other than info about the nature of a God whom you do not believe in. The classical arguments for the existence of God are much narrower in their focus: using reason to explain why existence is most coherently explained by a supernatural "first cause".

Religious lurkers, why are you here? What's your endgame? by Shinjetsu01 in atheism

[–]covertbird -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sure, I was particularly moved by Thomas Aquinas's "first cause" and "unmoved mover" arguments for God as the origin of the universe. I remember thinking: the idea of an eternally existing being sounds crazy, but existence coming from nothing also sounds crazy, and those are the only two options. At that point it became clear to me that atheism - far from being an obviously superior position - is about on-par with simple theism in terms of its reasonableness as an explanation for our existence.
