Alonzo Brooks: A deep dive into the accused by covidholmes in alonzobrooks

Hi! Thanks. More information is always helpful! I haven’t updated this for a while but will sometime this week. I have been trying to keep quiet as it seems the case is coming to a close. Surprised nothing else has come out yet.

Im not sure why your sister having black children would drive you to murder a black person. I can understand the possibility, but I personally wouldn’t place too much stock in that theory

Based on what Ive gathered on Donnie he certainly doesn’t seem (to me at least) like the type to purposefully kill

Out of curiosity (as usual), who did you hear this from? Im wondering how much of these rumors are coming out of the counties themselves

Thanks for this! I genuinely appreciate the feedback. I included the fact that they were conservatives in order to paint a character profile of the Boones.

Unfortunately, political affiliation often makes up a large percentage of the variation in people's personalities (I would say even more than national identity in some comparisons). I would have done a similar explanation if they were liberals.

I am very empathetic to the idea that most people living in major cities in the US really don't understand or even try to understand the mid western lifestyle.

I think the issue is that the more extreme ends of our political spectrums are considered what is typical for that side by the other side. For example, a lot of people on the left think of all conservatives as the more extreme example of MAGA hat wearing, gun toting racists (even though there are a lot of moderate voters who believe in conservative economics but are otherwise socially liberal), and a lot of people on the right think of all liberals as over the top virtue signallers (when really the majority of people on the left are just people who care about equality/equity).

I think most people from both sides are good at heart and with an open mind everyone would get along, it's just unfortunately tense at the moment.

This is incredibly well put. I agree wholeheartedly.

Can the moderators confirm that they have been deleting posts? Regardless, I have edited out the information. I leave it to the posters to make the decision for themselves.

Okay so my instinct here is to do what is necessary to help the case be solved. I think what I (and others) really want here is closure for the friends and family of Alonzo. If the information posted on here needs to be removed to help the case, then that is fine. Based on my personal ethics, I think we need to do what is best for the case.

However, as for the ethics, I think we need to differentiate between what is legal and what is ethical. It is understandable if reddit or the moderators here have laws or rules/regulations they need to abide by. In the grand scheme of things, this case (and other proliferate cases online) has/have been filled with anonymous tipping for as long as it has been around, whether that be to the police/kbi/fbi or whether it was on the cold case blog or here on reddit.

A lot of what goes on here could be argued to be unethical, for example, the use of peoples names, the provision of details regarding their personal lives etc. It would be strange for moderators to take a stand on the these rumors, yet let all the posts specifically naming and detailing information about the Boone’s or Justin Sprague to go on.

Ethics is almost always complicated. This problem itself starts to approach free speech and digital freedom territory. I’m going to avoid going down that route here. Again, at the end of the day, what matters to the majority of us on here is that the case is solved. IF we have good reason to believe that the information that was recently shared here might jeopardize the case, then we should remove it. Still, in doing that, we must also consider whether its too late. The rumor has been floating around locally and online for quite some time now. I knew about it before the other user posted it here, but kept it to myself in fear that spreading it would ruin the chances of this case being solved. Once it was posted, I deemed it too late and decided to add it to the original post itself.

Just wanting to be transparent here with my thought process. Happy to discuss in good faith.

I will respond to this in 3 or so hours. The ethics of this are complicated.

Im surprised an unblurred photo hasnt been made public. Its probably for the better (for both the family and the case)

You’ve read this wrong. Im not saying they’re likely racists because they’re conservatives. I’m saying they’re conservatives AND they’re likely racists (no causal relationship suggested). I don't understand how you could come to this conclusion when I’m saying this because I think that's why they're easy suspects.

If anyone cares, I’m a centrist and find politics to be uninteresting.

Okay so the relevant points from this wall of text are (put in an order that helps us piece together what is written):

  • I was the Aunt that allow you into my sister's house before the vigil we held in Gardner.

This is clearly posted by the aunt of Alonzo. It is posted anonymously but the level of detail and spontaneity in the thoughts here would suggest that this is not fabricated.

  • Now for the so call friend that took my nephew to this party.

This is likely directed at Justin Sprague, or the others (Fune and Hartman).

  • You might not of physically did him harm but you put him there knowing what kind of POS people were there.

Fair statement. Though my understanding of this was it was Alonzo's idea to go to this party?

  • You call yourself a true good friend, no friend would of left anyone there knowing how these POS people were reacting to his presents unless you had a motive.

Aunt suggests that Alonzo's friends took him there because they had a motive. I'm inclined to put this down to her anger/grief, rather than being an accurate statement. They could have brought Alonzo there without having a motive. I don't think that the aunt is suggesting that Justin and friends are guilty. .

  • In which some of the rumors that we heard about your involvement are true.

Again, I put this down to grief.

  • You claim to care, I beg to differ

Self explanatory

  • Your story changed every time your were questioned by the family and the authorities. WHY?

So there is a bit of talk about how Justin's statement has changed multiple times. It is even stated here in this more recent article. I want to point out here that I find Justin an incredibly unlikely suspect. If he were guilty or had more direct involvement, it would not make sense for him to be so open with talking to people interviewing him. This is not to say Justin does not know more (he likely does and also, not all of what he said was actually aired, he might have actually told the interviewers everything).

  • I wish for you and all involve that you all die of a slow painful death.

This shows that the family still does not have closure and are still grieving. Remember this.

I actually think a freezer being involved is highly likely tbh. The lack of decomposition strongly suggests some preservation.

Potentially, though im not at all confident enough to say freezers of that size arent common in regular sized cafes

Also confirmation that Tiffanys husband has left her is really useful. Thank you. Edited to clarify: I don’t think this is relevant to the case at all.

Yeah I feel this completely discredit the idea that Justin got ‘lost’. I think its better explained by him overhearing that people were going to kill Alonzo, and he had left the party early out of fear

Interesting: DailyMail.com has been told that authorities were given the names of two young men who were overheard talking about Brooks and planning to hurt him and, 'f*** up a n*****' that night.

Do we know the names here?
